ZAVA SETS MARCH 29, 2025 FOR THE ELECTIVE AGM

The Zambia Volleyball Association - The Official Elective AGM has been set for Saturday 29 March, 2025. Now as we head to that important calendar day, ours as a sporting community is to seat and watch ad we'll as provide ballanced analysis on what happened, what is happening and what may likely to happen.

If you have been a keen follower of Volleyball in the past years, we can all agree to the fact that current ZAVA leadership has really working something hard to improve the game of volleyball in the country, not because of an individual attachment to someone who is in the executive, but because of we know where we are coming from.

Let's just have a review of the 2024 ZAVA National League in comparison to the 2022 and 2023 awards.

In the 2022 ZAVA Awards, there was K10,000 on the table that was distributed to K5,000 for each category (Male and Female). Nothing for the Runners Up.

For the 2023 season, the prize money were increased to K10,000. Runners up were given K5,000.00

For the 2024 season awards, the increase and improvement was so huge as we saw even individual awards

Below is the summary of the awards that were held on 3rd January 2025.

1. Best Photographer
2. Best Videographer
3. Best page
4. Best Female Journalist
5. Best Male Journalist
6. Best Performing Referees
7. Best Young Players
8. Most improved players
9. Best coaches
10. Each position had a best player awarded
11. Most valuable player
12. Runners up prize money from K5,000 to K20,000
13. Champions from K10,000 to K50,000

This progress tells us that we expect more of positive developments in the coming season

As early as 06:30hrs in the morning, while preparing for the day's business, the news broke out that Tenant Chembo has been sent on administrative leave.

Indeni Football Club exco send team head coach Tenant Chembo on administrative leave and the reason stated by the team management is due to the poor results that the team has recorded this 2024/2025 MTN Super League season.

“From our team stakeholders the wish to Inform the public that 1st Assistant Coach Keegan Syabeene will serve as Interim Head Coach in the time being of coach Tenant Chembo’s administrative leave,” said by team General Secretary Mathews Chavula.
