When life breaks you down into pieces, it feels like everything is slipping away, like control and certainty have vanished. I know it’s tempting to think that everything is lost, that the weight of what’s broken is too heavy to bear. But in those moments, my dear friend, that’s where your true courage shines—not by pretending everything is okay, but by being brave enough to gather the pieces, no matter how shattered you feel.

Every single piece of your story—the pain, the joy, the scars, the lessons—is part of who you are. I know it might seem impossible to see the bigger picture when everything is in fragments, but those pieces hold so much meaning. They don’t define your weakness; they show your resilience. It’s okay if you don’t feel strong every day, and it’s okay if you feel overwhelmed right now. The real strength comes in the choice to gather yourself up again, slowly, patiently.

You don’t have to rush through the pain or pretend it’s not there. Give yourself permission to heal in your own time, on your own terms. Some pieces will fit together easily, while others may take more time or even need to be reshaped. And that’s perfectly fine. You don’t need to be in a hurry. There’s no shame in asking for help, in leaning on those who care about you, or in admitting that it’s hard. Healing isn’t linear—it’s a journey, and you are allowed to take it at your own pace.

You are not defined by what has broken you, but by how you choose to rise up. I see your strength every day, even when you don’t feel it. I know you’re doing your best, and I am so proud of you for continuing to move forward, even if it feels like slow progress. That’s courage, my friend—getting up every day, picking up one piece at a time, and trusting that wholeness is still possible.

The truth is, being broken can open you to new growth, new possibilities. It’s not about putting yourself back together the way you were before, but about evolving into someone even stronger, even more compassionate and resilient. You are becoming someone extraordinary, and every piece you gather makes you more powerful than before.

So, when life feels like it’s breaking you, know that it’s not the end of your story. Be gentle with yourself. Take your time. Trust that even in the hardest moments, you are creating something beautiful from the pieces. You are not alone in this. I see your strength, and I believe in you. You are stronger than you realize, and I’m with you every step of the way.

If you’re reading this and struggling with thoughts of ending your life, I want you to know from my heart: you are not alone. I can’t pretend to fully understand the depth of what you’re going through, but I do know this—your life matters, and the pain you’re feeling, while so real and heavy, doesn’t define who you are or your worth.

Right now, it might feel like there’s no way out, that the darkness is closing in, and it’s hard to imagine a day where things will get better. But there’s still hope, even if you can’t see it yet. Your story isn’t over, and there are moments you’ve yet to live, moments of peace, joy, and connection that are still ahead of you.

I want to remind you that your struggles are not a reflection of weakness. Feeling this way doesn’t make you any less deserving of love, care, or understanding. You are strong for enduring so much already. The thoughts telling you that you're not enough or that the world would be better without you are lying. Please, don’t believe them. You are so much more than your pain.

I know it’s hard to reach out when you feel like this, but please don’t hesitate to connect with someone who cares about you, even if it feels difficult. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a professional, someone who wants to support you is there. It takes real strength to be vulnerable, and you deserve to share what you’re feeling with someone who can help you carry the weight of it.

Please, give yourself the chance to experience better days. I truly believe that healing, even if slow, is possible. Even if it’s just one small step at a time, you can get through this. Your future holds moments that will make all the pain you’re feeling now seem distant, and you’ll look back and realize just how resilient you are. The world needs your unique presence in it—you bring something that no one else can.

You are loved. You are needed. Your life has value, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Stay, not just for others, but for yourself—because you are worth fighting for.

Here’s an encouraging story with a moral lesson:

The Bamboo and the Fern
Once upon a time, a man was feeling disheartened. He had worked hard for years, but nothing seemed to go right. One day, he went to the forest and sat among the tall trees. A wise elder, noticing his sadness, approached him and said, "Let me tell you a story about the bamboo and the fern."

The elder explained, "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I watered them both faithfully. The fern sprouted quickly and grew tall. But nothing came from the bamboo seed. I continued to water it, yet still, nothing happened. For five long years, I waited, and still, nothing.

But in the sixth year, something amazing happened. The bamboo sprouted and grew over 90 feet tall in just six weeks. You see, it had spent those five years growing its roots. During that time, it was developing a strong foundation that would sustain its rapid growth once it finally emerged."

The elder looked at the man and said, "Don’t compare yourself to others. Your time will come, and when it does, you will rise higher than you ever imagined. Keep nurturing your dreams. Keep growing your roots."

Moral: Patience and perseverance are key. Even when you can’t see progress, important things are happening beneath the surface. Your time to grow will come.

NEVER GIVE UP

ADD Macfelix Kizito Chilufya

"Never give up" is a powerful message of perseverance and
resilience, one that speaks to the human spirit's ability to endure in the face of challenges. The long version might look something like this:
Never give up, even when the path ahead seems uncertain or filled with obstacles. Life will test you, sometimes to your breaking point, but within you lies an unshakable strength. Challenges may arise, and failure may seem imminent, but each setback is an opportunity to learn, grow, and find a new way forward. Trust that your hard work and determination will eventually bear fruit, even if the results aren’t immediately visible.

Hold on to hope, because hope is the fuel that keeps you moving. Surround yourself with support, those who believe in you, and draw strength from them when your own reserves feel low. Take small steps if the big ones feel overwhelming, but keep moving forward. Sometimes, the most powerful victories come not from the absence of adversity, but from pushing through it, no matter how difficult the journey.

Success is not the absence of failure; it’s the persistence in continuing despite it. When you fall, stand up. When you feel tired, rest, but don’t quit. It’s okay to take breaks, to reassess, and to reevaluate your goals, but never stop believing in the power of your efforts. You are capable of more than you know.

Never give up, because you never know how close you are to the breakthrough you’ve been working for.

To every Christian who feels weighed down by hopelessness, I want to remind you of the unfailing love and presence of God in your life, even when everything feels overwhelming. Life can be filled with seasons of darkness, where it seems like your prayers go unanswered and the light at the end of the tunnel is nowhere to be found. Yet, it’s in these very moments that God is closest to you, walking with you through the valley of shadows.

The Bible is full of examples of people who faced despair but found renewed hope in God’s promises. David, who often cried out to God from a place of deep sorrow, penned some of the most beautiful psalms of trust and praise, like Psalm 34:18, ā€œThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.ā€ Even when you don’t understand the "why" behind your struggles, God is always working. He has a plan for you, one filled with hope and a future, as it says in Jeremiah 29:11. Your current pain, as hard as it is, is not the end of your story.

Hopelessness often makes us feel isolated, as though we’re alone in our suffering. But Jesus Himself experienced profound pain and abandonment. On the cross, He cried out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46). Yet even in His darkest hour, He fulfilled God's ultimate plan of redemption for us. If Jesus, who was perfect, faced such moments, how much more should we expect that our own journeys will have their difficult seasons? But just like with Jesus, your darkest moments can be turned into the most powerful testimonies of God’s grace and restoration.

Take heart in knowing that this hopelessness is not permanent. In Romans 5:3-5, Paul reminds us that "suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." The very trials that are stretching you today are producing a greater strength, endurance, and depth of faith that you cannot yet fully see. God uses everything, even our pain, for a greater purpose. In time, you will look back and see how He carried you through, refining you in ways you never imagined.

So, when the weight of hopelessness bears down on you, choose to fight back with faith. Speak God’s promises over your life, even when your heart feels empty. Surround yourself with His Word, and lean on His people. You are not meant to carry your burdens alone. Find comfort in the body of Christ, knowing that there is always someone who can stand with you, pray for you, and remind you of the hope that remains in Jesus.

Though you may feel like you're in the midst of a storm, trust that the storm will pass, and on the other side, you will find renewed strength and peace. Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." This is a promise to you. Your strength will be renewed, and hope will rise again within you.

Hold fast to that hope, dear one. God has not abandoned you, and He never will. Even in your weakest moment, He is your strength. Even in your darkest hour, He is your light. He is still in control, and He will bring you through this season, stronger and more full of His grace than ever before.
