Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.

You are not a thing.....

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.

Better.... Yet there is more. That word GOOD is the same word God used in Genesis at creation and the same word used for the Tree of knowledge. Tov. It means much more than just good. Do not be limited to how man interprets who or what you are.

An animal no matter how much man uses it to help him is nowhere ever called as an Ezer.

“Twenty one times Ezer appears in the Old Testament: twice in Genesis for the woman (Genesis 2:18, 20), three times for nations to whom Israel appealed for military aid (Isaiah 30:5; Ezekiel 12:14; Daniel 11:34), and sixteen times for God as Israel’s helper (Exodus 18:4; Deuteronomy 33:7, 26, 29; Psalms 20:2; 33:20; 70:5; 89:19; 115:9, 10, 11; 121:1 – 2; 124:8; 146:5; Hosea 13:9).”

I have read Genesis 2:18 to 20 many times and I kept wondering as to why we conclude that God was looking for an Ezer among the animals for man?

On this page "Restoration of Ezer" I want to tell the untold story of the woman in scripture. The sidelined, yet important cornerstone of the building called scripture.

I wish to take us back in time. Back to when Jesus, the last Adam resurrected from the dead and also back to when the first Adam died from life. In both these situations, something happened to the woman.

Who was this woman, what was she, and why was she? Lastly, maybe we will know who she is. I shall name the unnamed women. Put a face to the women who have shaped scripture...... Walk with me. It will be an interesting walk.

The story of the woman in scripture is read and put aside. Very rare is her story preached. Her faith in God seldom mentioned. The pulpit is not her place at all, for preaching or to be preached. Preachers would rather preach of the Samaritan woman or the woman caught in adultery. Even Mary's story is overshadowed by the birth of Jesus. Mary has no story on the pulpit. The fact that she had to face shame because obviously she must have been accused of having committed adultery or fornication. How does a young woman face her parents and relatives with an unexplained pregnancy? What about the issue of obedience? Did Mary gladly accept to be pregnant in a society that would have stoned her to death? Why do we assume it was a beautiful Christmas story, covered in snow with a star shinning above? The baby in the manger story. What about the mother?

Who is the woman? Who or what is that which was created from man? The woman needs to remove the chains from her mind that have been passed on from civilization to civilization of who man says she is. The worst thing that can happen to one is in the mind. Something false that has been taught over thousands of years becomes a truth in the mind. This is why anything that places the woman in her rightful place will be met with resistance even from the woman herself. But her story must be told...

Of all God's creation, I find a woman to be the most amazing on this planet earth. That which God created and what the man called that which God created are two different things. God did not say, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a woman suitable for him." God made what he said was suitable for man. When that which God made was brought to the man, the man named it "Woman". (Genesis 2:18;23)

*Your Ezer.... Your wife. The Woman*
God created the woman as an ezer. The word ezer occurs twenty-one times in the Old Testament. In two cases it refers to the first woman, Eve, in Genesis 2. Three times it refers to powerful nations Israel called on for help when besieged. In the sixteen remaining cases the word refers to God as our help. These 21 times are the only time this word is used. None of those times is it used for man. (Genesis 2:18, 20), three times for nations to whom Israel appealed for military aid (Isaiah 30:5; Ezekiel 12:14; Daniel 11:34), and sixteen times for God as Israel’s helper (Exodus 18:4; Deuteronomy 33:7, 26, 29; Psalms 20:2; 33:20; 70:5; 89:19; 115:9, 10, 11; 121:1 – 2; 124:8; 146:5; Hosea 13:9).

Genesis 2:22-23 KJV
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. [23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Made he a woman. v22
She shall be called Woman. v23

If you do not see, you will think that God made a woman and Adam named her Woman. It's like I make a "_________" and you name it "_______".
