Sishuwa aware about a list of opposition, civic leaders earmarked for prison before 2026 elections

I am aware that there is a list of opposition and civic leaders who will be jailed before the elections, in addition to those already behind bars or six feet under the ground. Those set to be imprisoned includes Binwell Mpundu, Brebner Changala, Fred M’membe, Kasonde Mwenda, Dan P**e, Chishimba Kambwili (yes, again!), Brian Mundubile, and Given Katuta. One may naively ask: but what offence have they committed? Well, under this administration, the play book is that one need not commit a genuine crime to be sent to jail; offences and their seriousness seem to be decided by those in power. There then exists a set of regime-friendly magistrates and High Court judges whose job is to convict critics and political opponents of the incumbent president. The ultimate objective is to ensure that the incumbent president goes into the election without a formidable opposition. This is, from all points of view, most unfortunate.

Ruling UPND Kapiri Mposhi district youth chairman Kenan Chatepa says the performance in terms of development delivery of area member of parliament Stanley Kakubo is below par.

ZWW to write ECZ on why certain regions have higher voter numbers - Muhabi

Zambia We Want (ZWW) secretary general Muhabi Lungu says the organisation would write to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to explain why there is a higher registration of voters in some regions as opposed to some.

According to phase 1 of the voters registered by ECZ, data showed that Muchinga Province lagged behind in terms of the voters captured with 3990 voters.

This was announced yesterday during a press briefing by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) chief electoral officer Brown Kasaro. The highest in terms of the voters captured was Copperbelt at 16,550, followed by Luapula at 14,106 and then Southern 11,223, Western 10,486, Lusaka 9,248, Northern 8,949, North Western - 8,244, Eastern 7973, Central 5148 and finally Muchinga t the tail end at Muchinga 3990

Muchinga at tail end in phase 1 of voters registered

Muchinga Province lags behind in terms of the voters captured in Phase 1 of voter registration, with 3990 voters.

This was announced yesterday during a press briefing by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) chief electoral officer Brown Kasaro, the highest in terms of the voters captured was Copperbelt at 16,550, followed by Luapula at 14,106 and then Southern 11,223, Western 10,486, Lusaka 9,248, Northern 8,949, North Western - 8,244, Eastern 7973, Central 5148 and finally Muchinga t the tail end at Muchinga 3990

I can't categorise Kambwili's release as a pardon - Wife.. they should have released him when his BP was high

Imprisoned former Information minister Chishimba Kambwili's wife, Carol, says she would not categorise her husband's release from prison as a pardon because he has already served his five-month sentence.

Speaking with Daily Revelation today, Carol said Kambwili could be released before October 25, 2025 owing to the fact that the day falls on the weekend.

Information has swirled around that Kambwili could be among those who would be 'pardoned' for release from prison on Independence Day, October 24, 2025.
