Chile One becomes Chile 5 after winning big at Kwacha Music Awards
THE person who coined "when it rains, it truly pours" did not have Chile One in mind but the Zambian artiste is truly standing the outpouring of blessings as he closed off the night with five awards at the 2025 Kwacha Music Awards.
For the second time in three years, Chile One (Obed Chileshe) has repeated history, matching his 2022 record by walking away with five awards in a single night, a feat that few Zambian artistes have ever achieved.
He dominated the categories he was nominated in, taking home Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Mainstream/Pop Song, Most Conscious Song and Best Male Artiste, outshining strong contenders including Yo Maps.
Describing his latest triumph as a source of inspiration, Chile One revealed that even mistakes can be transformed into opportunities.
The idea for his ‘Eagle One’ album, he explained, came from turning setbacks into creativity, proving that challenges can spark brilliance.
“Wilaifumyamo ichimwela, don’t feel low no matter what. You can pick yourself up and build yourself,” he said.
“As a token of my appreciation, I promise to gift you all two brand new bangers this December on different dates. I can’t wait to share them with you.”
