LCC ADMITS 3,602 LEARNERS TO SKILLS TRAINING INSTITUTIONS UNDER CDF

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has admitted a total of 3,602 learners to various skills training institutions across the country under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Skills Development Bursary for 2026.
The initiative is aimed at expanding access to technical and vocational education, equipping young people with practical skills that can improve their employment prospects and support entrepreneurship.
According to a statement issued by the Lusaka City Council Public Relations Manager, Ms Chola Mwamba, on September 30, 2026, the beneficiaries were drawn from all seven constituencies in Lusaka District.
Lusaka Central recorded the highest number of beneficiaries at 872, followed by Matero with 752, Munali with 574, Kanyama with 592, Kabwata with 583, Mandevu with 150, and Chawama with 79 learners.
The successful applicants have been placed in various Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA)-accredited institutions across the country.
These include the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Evelyn Hone College, Lusaka Business and Technical College, Northern Technical College (NORTEC), Luanshya Technical and Business College, Kabwe Institute of Technology, Kasiya Secretarial College, and Lusaka Vocational Training Centre, among others.
The bursary programme covers a wide range of practical and professional courses, including Electrical Engineering, Automotive Mechanics, Metal Fabrication and Welding, Plumbing and Sheet Metal, Carpentry and Joinery, Bricklaying and Plastering, Tailoring, Fashion Design, Food Production, Hairdressing and Cosmetology, Computer Studies, General Agriculture, Water Supply and Sanitation Operations, and Driving.
The Council has also urged school leavers intending to apply for the 2027 CDF Skills Development Bursaries to familiarise themselves with the approved training institutions and available courses to ensure a smooth application process.
The CDF Skills Development Bursary forms part of the Government's broader efforts to promote skills development, youth empowerment and access to vocational training opportunities.
The Lusaka City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the livelihoods and well-being of residents in Lusaka District, while encouraging members of the public to take advantage of education and empowerment opportunities available through the Constituency Development Fund.
The announcement provides an opportunity for school leavers and other eligible applicants to explore vocational training as a pathway towards employment, self-employment and participation in national development.
