Eighteen members of the same family in Luano District, Central Province, have been hospitalised after allegedly consuming suspected poisonous Munkoyo.

The victims, comprising both adults and children, were rushed to Old Mkushi Rural Health Centre after developing complications shortly after consuming the traditional beverage.

Health officials are currently monitoring the patients while investigations into the suspected poisoning incident continue.
