Why You Should NEVER Put NRC Number, Marital Status, Religion, or Date of Birth on Your CV
Many job seekers are still adding unnecessary personal details on their CVs without knowing the risks. Modern CV standards have changed, and these details should never be included:
❌ NRC / ID Number
❌ Marital Status
❌ Religion
❌ Date of Birth
Here’s why:
1️⃣ They expose you to discrimination
Recruiters may judge you based on age, religion, or marital status instead of your skills. Your CV must protect you from bias.
2️⃣ They are NOT required in the hiring process
Companies hire based on competence, not personal information. These details don’t help your application in any way.
3️⃣ They make your CV look outdated
Modern HR and international standards have removed personal details from CVs. Adding them lowers your chances of passing ATS.
4️⃣ They put your privacy at risk
Sharing your NRC number can expose you to identity theft or scammers. A CV can be forwarded anywhere protect yourself.
What to include instead:
✔ Full Name
✔ Phone Number
✔ Email
✔ City & Country
✔ LinkedIn (optional but recommended)
Your CV is your professional brand keep it clean, modern, and protected.
Be smart. Apply the right way
