‎MBOMBO INSPIRES NKANA TO FIRST LEAGUE WIN

‎Striker Idris Mbombo’s second-half header ended Nkana's two-match winless run as they beat Green Buffaloes 1-0 in Kitwe.

‎Nkana had endured back to back draws against Prisons Leopard and Nkwazi in their opening two fixtures.

‎The striker scored the only goal after 63 minutes when he rose highest to header the Mathews Banda cross.

‎And Nkana Head Coach Mwenya Chipepo has hailed the spirit of his players and congratulated them in recovering from a winless streak.

‎"I would like to congratulate my players for playing well today, they were angry because playing two games without a win , both draw in Kabwe and at home,so today they put up a spirited fight so that they compasate and make supporters happy,”Chipepo said after the match.

‎Saturday's victory was Chipepo's 17th league win as Nkana Coach in 37 league matches in charge since 25th October,2024.

‎Meanwhile, Buffaloes fell off to their second defeat of the season after bright start in their Week One encounter.

‎The defeat leaves Buffaloes in 11th position with three points.

‎Nkana’s first victory of the campaign moves them up to fourth on the log with five points but could drop on the table depending on the outcome of Sundays results.

‎Nkana will face Kabwe Warriors in their next fixture on 13th September at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
