THE FIRST TIME I EVER APPROACHED A GUY I LIKED!
(Yes, I'm that confident sometimes.)
I was at a restaurant with two of my friends; I was ready to order food like there was no tomorrow since I wasn't the one paying.😂
But I lost focus when I saw this fine gentleman sitting all by himself in the corner table.
I said to my friends, "Ok but if I was a little courageous, I'd have approached him."
One of my friends looked back to see who I was talking about, then turned to me and said,
"He's actually good looking, go and say hi."
I said no, she insisted.
Before I could say no again, my other friend echoed,
"WEMUNTU KABIYE! Life's too short to not say hi to someone you like."
Ah!
That was the boost of confidence I needed.
I walked up to this fine gentleman clad in a dark blue shirt that complemented his beautiful brown eyes.
Getting closer to his table, I could smell his perfume.
Man smelled so good I wanted to hug him and bask in his scent.
I let out a nervous smile when I noticed he was looking at me and HE SMILED RIGHT BACK.
"Hi" I said.
"Hi" He said.
Then an awkward silence followed.
All of a sudden, I didn't know what to say. I was just standing there looking at him.
A few seconds later, I heard his voice say, "would you like to sit?"
I was embarrassed, but I still gathered the courage to say, 'yes, sure.'
I introduced myself, and he introduced himself too.
"You smell really good, and you look well." I said.
Ala the man blushed.
And like the straight forward person I am, I got my phone and looked at him, then looked back at my phone and said, "What's your WhatsApp number?"
Man was so shocked but he still got my phone and typed in his number.😜
"I'll text you," I said as I left his table.
Few steps in, and I turned back to him and whispered;
"You are not married, are you?"
"No" He said.
"You don't have a girlfriend, do you?"
"No" He said.
I got to my friends and told them I was too shy to eat from the restaurant and we left.
Anyway, the FBI in me couldn't resist using his name and phone number to search for him online.
Turns out, the man had just wished his girlfriend a happy birthday on his Facebook profile earlier that morning.
Jackson, THIS IS WHY I NEVER TEXTED YOU!!!
I even feel like deleting your number again.😂
