A business is defined by many as an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial, or professional activities. In most cases the business is established with the intention to generate revenue or profit.

The types of businesses are as follows:
📌Sole proprietorship.
📌General partnership.
📌Limited partnership.
📌Limited liability partnership (LLP)
📌C corporation.
📌S corporation.
📌Benefit corporation.
📌Limited liability company (LLC)

One of the main governing laws regarding business entities in Zambia is the companies act no. 10 of 2017.

In a still developing country and economy such as Zambia, sole proprietorship or sole traders play a pivotal role in boosting the country’s economic growth and reducing poverty and the high levels of unemployment. For a sole trader one dosent necessarily need a professional skill per se or credentials to start the business. In most cases what sole traders need is the zeal,passion and talent for what they do. Examples of sole trader businesses may include baber shops, hair salons, grocery stores,online thrift boutiques,nail technicians etc.
I urge the young people today to engage in doing business. Become entrepreneurs for a change and let’s see a paradigm shift in the traditional job hunting,hand to mouth livelihood and poverty…let’s do business 📌
