Former Zambian President Edgar Lungu passed away, and his body was repatriated from South Africa on June 11, 2025. However, the burial date hasn't been announced yet due to ongoing discussions between the government and his family.

The government declared a 7-day national mourning period from June 8 to June 14, 2025, and accorded Lungu a state funeral. His body was taken to Belvedere Lodge in Lusaka for mourning.

Unfortunately, talks between the government and the Lungu family broke down over the repatriation timeline, causing a delay in the burial arrangements. The African Forum of Former Heads of State and Government has joined the discussions to help resolve the issues.

"Nationality” Remix Postponed to Honor Former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu 😫🇿🇲‼️

JayTrigga & Ari have officially postponed the release of their “Nationality” remix featuring Rotimi, which was originally scheduled to drop tomorrow.

The decision was made out of respect following the passing of Zambia’s former President, H.E. Edgar Chagwa Lungu. In light of the national mourning period, the artists have chosen to delay the release in honor of his legacy.

“We feel this is a time to stand with the nation, reflect, and pay tribute to a leader who meant a lot to many Zambians,” they shared.

A new release date will be announced soon!
