Yo-Maps takes Mwizukanji to court over their daughter Bukata !

Zambian singer Elton Mulenga, popularly known as Yo Maps, has applied to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court seeking primary custody of his daughter, Bukata.

He told the court that he would be more than willing to raise her in the same way he and his wife, Kiddist Kiffle, are raising her half-sister at home, as he has consistently taken responsibility for Bukata’s well-being.

Yo Maps stated that on several occasions, he has asked to spend time with his daughter , whether during holidays, weekends, or events but Prudence Nakamba, also known as Mwizukanji, has repeatedly refused without giving any valid reason.

Mr. Mulenga has submitted WhatsApp conversations as evidence to support his claim.

Meanwhile, his wife, Kiddist Kiffle, told the court that he has been a responsible father, adding that she assists him in ensuring that all maintenance payments, school fees, and other expenses related to the child are settled on time.

Zambian govt requests to identify Lungu’s body!

Lawyers representing the Zambian government in the ongoing case in South Africa regarding the repatriation of former President Edgar Lungu have formally requested the Lungu family to allow the identification and authentication of Mr. Lungu’s body, currently kept at a funeral parlour.

In a letter dated July 29, 2025, VFV Attorneys proposed that the process be conducted on any day from today until Friday, August 1, 2025, at a time convenient for all parties involved.

They described the request as a necessary and respectful step to bring clarity to a matter of both public and personal importance.

The lawyers warned that any refusal or failure to provide the required consent would compel the government to question the bona fides of the Lungu family’s position, adding that they would have no choice but to approach the court for appropriate relief.

This request follows a court order issued on June 25, 2025, which stated that only the Lungu family and designated individuals would be permitted to view and inspect the body of the late president.

In this matter, Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha is asking the South African High Court to order the repatriation of Mr. Lungu’s body to Zambia despite opposition from the Lungu family.

Mr. Lungu died on June 5, 2025, in South Africa. His body has not yet been buried due to a standoff between his family and the Zambian government.

We have taken note of deeply misleading rumors circulating on various media platforms, which falsely identify a young woman in a recently shared video as the daughter of the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. W.K Mutale-Nalumango.

Let it be stated with clarity: the woman portrayed is not related in any way to the Vice President or her family. These claims are completely inaccurate, and we are disheartened by the speed at which misinformation can eclipse truth in our digital age.

Moreover, some voices have sought to associate the figure of $10,000 with a supposed gift from the Vice President to the young woman. Such suggestions do not only misrepresent facts, they challenge the integrity of the Vice President who is committed to transparency, equity, and the responsible stewardship of public resources.

The Vice President is a mother, but more importantly, she is a servant of God and the people. She does not indulge her children with state funds, nor does she treat them with privilege above fellow Zambians. Her children live and work with the same spirit of dedication, humility, and resilience that defines the character of this great nation.

We appeal not simply for correction, but for reflection. Truth must never become optional. Let us remember that behind every viral image is a real person, a real story, and often, undeserved harm.

We thank all Zambians who continue to uphold values of respect, kindness, and critical thought.
