These little children are truly happy at this day care facility supported by the Pan African and Collectives and members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Kigali Rwanda of the Great Lakes Conference.

The support through early childhood education and feeding programme is important for their formative development.

Meet Presiding Elder Jonathan Weaver

He is a long time partner of the 17th Episcopal District and supports Missions and Outreach Work in the Great Lakes Conference. He first visited Zambia particularly Ebenezer AME Church in Lusaka East Presiding Elder District in 1989 when the Late Rev. Dr. David Simfukwe was the Pastor in Charge. He also attended the 2013 Global Development Council Executive and General Assembly held in Lusaka.

He is instrumental in Pan Africanism. He also visited the Late Founding President of Zambia the Late Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda with a team from the African American Institute at State House in Lusaka.

You would be interested to know that the Late Zambian President visited and worshipped at one of our churches in the USA as part of the Liberation and Pan Africanism drive.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church has been instrumental in the freedom and liberation movement in different parts of the world. The story and legacy of the church needs to be sustained and reinvigorate efforts towards emancipation of people.

Remember, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty!
