ALLIANCE SURGE: FIVE PARTIES JOIN UPND BLOC, EXPANDING COALITION TO FIFTEEN

The UPND Alliance has consolidated its political momentum after admitting five additional parties, raising its total membership to fifteen and further reshaping Zambia’s political landscape.
The expansion signals mounting confidence in President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership and the New Dawn Administration’s reform agenda. Alliance partners cited a shared commitment to advancing national development and safeguarding gains made since 2021.
Alliance Chairperson Charles Milupi welcomed the new members, describing the move as proof that more political stakeholders are choosing collaboration over confrontation to drive Zambia’s progress.
“The decision by these parties to join us affirms that unity of purpose is now prevailing over partisan division,” Milupi said.
The development broadens the alliance’s national footprint and reflects a growing preference among political actors to coalesce around policies aimed at improving livelihoods and entrenching stability.
With fifteen parties now under its banner, the UPND Alliance is positioning itself as a broad-based platform anchored on inclusive governance, economic reform, and sustained national development.
