"UPND Media 'Guru' Busted in Grand Scam – Former TV Man Turns Receipts into Magic Beans!"

M28 tv zambia

Lusaka – In a plot twist straight out of a low-budget soap opera, a self-proclaimed media genius from the UPND media team, Kelvin Chifokolo, has finally been caught in the act—not creating content this time, but allegedly creating fake receipts!

The police in Lusaka have arrested the former Prime TV employee-turned-political media “strategist” for Theft, Impersonation, and Tampering with Official Documents. Yes, folks, this media man reportedly swapped microphones for mischief!

Sources say Chifokolo allegedly hoodwinked a God-fearing church out of a whopping K116,000, claiming it was for adverts on Prime TV. But alas, he only delivered K60,000 to Prime TV’s marketing manager, Charity Banda—the rest must have been raptured.

Even Banda was dragged into the interrogation room, shocked to learn there was a whole other K56,000 floating somewhere in the spirit realm.

And if that wasn’t enough, Chifokolo is said to have pulled a classic trick: altering old Prime TV receipts, changing dates like it was Photoshop practice day, and using them to convince the church that everything was “paid in full.” Hallelujah… for fraud?

Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi, has confirmed the arrest, stating the media man is now in custody, awaiting his red carpet moment in court.

From Prime TV to prime suspect—Kelvin Chifokolo’s fall from grace is not just a headline. It’s a lesson: not all media men wear press tags—some carry forged receipts.

Mr BAXTON WRITES

"We can’t pretend anymore..."

The truth is simple and painful — Zambians are going through some of the hardest times under the UPND government. Prices are high, jobs are scarce, and hope is fading.
Yet, what is our opposition doing?
Instead of coming together and giving people real hope... they’re busy with jokes, infighting, and playing games like it's a comedy show.
While UPND is busy organizing, regrouping, and strategizing for 2026 — our opposition is

not serious.
People are crying for a united front, but all they’re getting is division and noise.
How do we inspire confidence like this?
How do we stand before struggling citizens and say “we’re ready”?
Zambians are waiting... but for how long?
It’s time for our opposition leaders to stop entertaining and start leading. Enough is enough.

WHY DOES THE HH-LED GOVERNMENT WANT TO SEE ECL'S BODY?

Lusaka – Tuesday, 29th July 2025

M28 tv zambia

Why is the Government of Zambia under President Hakainde Hichilema so determined to see the body of the late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu? What exactly are they trying to confirm or uncover—and why now?

These are the questions being asked after it emerged that the Attorney General of Zambia, through their lawyers VFV Attorneys, has urgently written to Mashele Attorneys—the legal representatives of the Lungu family—demanding access to the late President’s body currently held at a funeral parlour in Pretoria, South Africa.

In the letter dated 29th July 2025, VFV Attorneys state that a government representative has already travelled to South Africa and is ready to "inspect" and "authenticate the identity of the body." But this has left many wondering: what is the real intention behind this request?

Why the sudden urgency, especially when the Gauteng High Court had earlier ruled that only the widow, immediate family members, and designated spokespersons were allowed access to the body?

Is this about identification—or is there something more the public is not being told?

The letter further warns that if the Lungu family does not comply, the Zambian government will take the matter back to court to compel access. But this forceful tone has raised eyebrows and further fueled speculation.

What could possibly justify the State’s fear of not confirming the body’s identity at this stage?

Is it standard procedure—or a sign of mistrust?

Below is part of the content from the VFV Attorneys’ letter addressed to the Lungu family’s legal team:

> “We hereby formally request your consent to make the necessary arrangements for a representative of our client to attend at the funeral parlour… for the purpose of identifying and authenticating the identity of the body.”

> “Refusal or failure to provide the necessary consent will regrettably compel our client to question the bona fides of the family’s position, and we will be left with no alternative but to approach the court for appropriate relief.”

The Lungu family has not yet issued a public response to this request, but many Zambiansboth at home and in the diaspora—are asking:

What’s really going on?

And why does this government seem unwilling to simply let the former President rest in peace?

M28 tv zambia

Lusaka – Kulima Tower Bus Drivers Chairperson, Nicholas Banda, has praised President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government for what he describes as an "excellent" performance since taking office.

Speaking on behalf of fellow bus operators, Banda stated that the current administration has delivered “10 out of 10” in just under four years.

"Their performance in three years and ten months deserves 100% appreciation from all well-meaning Zambians," said Mr. Banda.

He commended the government for improvements in infrastructure, economic stability, and efforts to uplift the welfare of ordinary citizens, including those in the transport sector.
