FORMER Finance Minister Katele Kalumba has been granted K100,000 bail in his recognisnce with 2 woking sureties bonded in the same amount.
Lusaka resident Magistrate Webster Milumbe allowed the application made by defence lawyer Henry Mulenga that the accused was charged with a bailable offence, and was of fixed abode.
And that for the sake of his health, Dr Kalumba should be allowed to be home for ease access to medical care and treatment.
And the state was not objective the application which the court allowed with conditions
The visibly frail ex-minister has been in detention and has been charged with seditious practices.
He has pleaded not guilty to posting seditious adding that the recording was meant purely as a word of counsel for the president to avoid rigging elections to avoid dissatisfaction amon the electorates.
Dr Kalumba has been in custody for 20 days since his arrest and due to his poor health conditions, had pleaded in the interest of justice that he may obtain medical care outside the facility
