When it comes to personal branding, few people do it better than Chris Do, a world-renowned designer, educator, and business strategist who has helped thousands build brands that stand out and sell.

In this lesson, Chris breaks down 10 game-changing tips that will help you grow an authentic and successful personal brand.

If you have been struggling to figure out how to present yourself to the world, this is the blueprint you need.

1️⃣ Don't chase new, focus on being original.
2️⃣ Don't chase better, pursue what is different.
3️⃣ Social media is the new resume. Build there.
4️⃣ Embrace what's too much about you. Your perceived flaws are not flaws, they are you strengths flipped.
5️⃣ Push through "the dip" - It gets overwhelming but don't quit.
6️⃣ Avoid the authenticity gap - Be vulnerable, you're not an angel and remember no one trusts characters that are too perfect.
7️⃣ Create a repeatable story. One easy to remember.
8️⃣ Play against types in your industry. Consider what everyone is doing and then play different, be meaningfully different. When everyone zigs, zag.
9️⃣ It's a battle of tribes, whoever has the strongest tribe wins.
🔟 Develop your own unique catchphrases that your tribe will embrace and identify with.

If you start applying these tips today, you'll only get better with time, start today!

Make it simple, make it happen.

NOT KNOWING THE SONG WELL – THE POWER OF MEMORIZATION

One of the most common and easily avoidable mistakes singers make is stepping on stage without fully knowing their song. Singing is more than just hitting the right notes—it’s about storytelling, confidence, and connection. When you don’t know your lyrics or structure inside-out, it shows—and not in a good way.

WHY MEMORIZATION MATTERS:
Memorizing your song allows you to focus less on remembering what comes next and more on how to deliver it with emotion and style. It frees you to engage the audience, use body language, maintain eye contact, and stay in rhythm with your band or backing vocals. A well-memorized song becomes a part of you—it flows naturally, and any nervousness you might feel reduces significantly.

TIPS TO IMPROVE MEMORIZATION:

◉Practice in sections: Don’t try to learn the whole song in one go. Break it down.

◉Write it out: Physically writing the lyrics helps lock them into your memory.

◉Sing along frequently: Repetition is key. The more often you rehearse, the deeper it sticks.

◉Test yourself: Sing without looking. Forget a line? Go back and try again.

◉Visualize the story: Understand the message of the song and mentally picture it.

BOTTOM LINE:
When you know your song well, your performance becomes more expressive and enjoyable—for both you and your audience. So take the time to memorize it fully. Confidence grows when your mind isn’t racing to remember.

Dear Musicians,

Rehearsal is not just a routine — it's a powerful space where your gift is shaped, sharpened, and aligned. Every time you step into rehearsal, you’re given an opportunity to grow in skill, build team chemistry, and deepen your understanding of the music and the message behind it.

Great musicians don’t just show up on stage — they show up in rehearsal, focused and intentional. It’s where mistakes are corrected, creativity is birthed, and excellence is developed over time.

Don’t waste your rehearsal moments. Be on time, be engaged, and give it your best. What you invest in rehearsal will always reflect in your performance or ministration.

Rehearse with purpose — because preparation honors your gift and your calling.
