Therefore we plant indigenous trees around the city. We are also concerned about the underprivileged especially now with current inflation and rise in cost of living. Therefore, we are undertaking a huge responsibility of planting orchards at orphanages.

Heartbreak Today, A Greener Ndola Tomorrow 🌳🇿🇲

To everyone who has been tagging me and sharing photos of the trees being cleared along President Avenue—I hear you, and believe me, I feel that same ache in my chest. Seeing those old giants come down is incredibly tough for any tree lover.

However, I’ve taken some time to look into the "why" behind this change, and I wanted to share some perspective on why this is a necessary step for our city’s growth:

• The Infrastructure Reality: Our roads and drainage systems are getting a much-needed upgrade. For Ndola to thrive, we need functional, flood-free streets and safe passage for everyone.

• The Wrong Tree for the Job: While the Flamboyant trees were stunning, their aggressive root systems were the primary culprit behind the cracked pavements, road and choked drainages we’ve struggled with for years. They were literally "undermining" our city's foundation.

• A Fresh Start: This isn't just about removal; it’s about renewal. We now have a blank canvas to beautify our city again—but this time, we’re going to be smarter.

The Vision Moving Forward: I’ll be advocating for us to replant with intention. We need species that offer shade and beauty without destroying the very infrastructure we’re building today.

• Non-invasive root systems.
• Indigenous varieties that support our local ecosystem.
• Trees that can coexist with our new roads for the next 50 years.

Let’s allow the dust to settle and the new roads to be built. Once the foundation is ready, I’ll be the first one out there with a shovel in hand to help make President Avenue green again—the right way.

Change is hard, but growth is necessary. Let’s keep Ndola moving forward! 🌿🛣️

Star fruit, or carambola, is a tropical fruit known for its distinctive star shape when sliced, offering a sweet-tart, crisp, and juicy flavor, often compared to a mix of apple, pear, and citrus. Rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, it's eaten raw (skin and all), in juices, or as a garnish, but people with kidney disease must avoid it due to a neurotoxin.

Late post
On Saturday 13th September 2025, I donated 306 trees to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. The trees were mostly Flamboyant and a few Jacaranda 🌳🌳🌳

I have done my part for this year.

Please do yours too. Don't just complain about the

heat 🥵🥵🥵 ,
fires 🔥 🔥🔥 and
climate change 🌍.

There is only 1 earth, it's our job to protect it. No one is coming to save us.

We donated 8 trees seedlings to sponsors of the SPCA fund raising annual horse racing event held at the Ndola Boating and Sailing Club.

We gave out water berries, leopard and flamboyant trees 🌳.

We will ask the sponsors to update us when they plant them.

I have lost count how many trees I have planted. We will update once I catch up.

Happy tree planting. 🌳 🌳🌳

And by the way I am not that short. The guys were wearing special horse boots with extra heels 👠 🤪🤣
