Kylian Mbappe blames media for speculation about relationship with 'great player' Vinicius Jr

By: Goal

Kylian Mbappe has broken his silence on his relationship with Real Madrid team-mate Vinicius Junior, claiming that the media outlets are responsible for the speculation about the duo not getting along.

The Frenchman believes that publications "sell a lot of papers" by spreading false narratives about their dynamic, adding that he has absolutely no issues with Vini Jr.

ARSENAL READY TO SELL £45M JESUS

By: Goal.com

Arsenal are reportedly ready to sell £45 million ($60m) star Gabriel Jesus this coming January, though Gunners fans have been told to "expect a quiet January window" after a spending big money over the summer.

When Gabriel Jesus joined the Gunners in July 2022, he was billed as the man to restore Arsenal's firepower and spearhead a new era at the Emirates.

Jesus' uncertain future at Arsenal
It was supposed to be a fairytale move, a proven winner swapping Manchester City’s silverware-laden dressing room for Mikel Arteta’s ambitious Arsenal project. Two years later, that dream appears to be crumbling. Injuries, inconsistency, and a ruthless reshaping of Arteta’s attack have left the Brazilian’s Arsenal future hanging by a thread. Reports from Mail Online now claim that Jesus’ latest appearance, an FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in January, where he tore his ACL, could be his final one in red and white.

In his debut season, he made a bright start, scoring 11 goals across all competitions. But that first-season spark soon faded. Persistent knee problems and a damaging ACL injury in January have since derailed his momentum entirely.

The Brazilian has not kicked a competitive ball this season and is now facing the grim prospect of being moved on before he ever truly fulfilled his potential in north London.

Avram Grant is not getting carried away with Chipolopolo’s 1–0 win over Tanzania on Wednesday night, with the coach expressing disappointment at his team’s performance in parts of the game.

It was an important win for Chipolopolo as it meant they ended their winless run in 2025. The first half was tightly contested and produced few chances. In the second stanza, Zambia’s wait for a win ended with a Fashion Sakala goal in the 74th minute.

The goal epitomized a training ground move with Kabaso Chongo switching play to captain Lubambo Musonda, who brilliantly set up Sakala for a close-range tap-in that gave Zambia the lead. That proved to be the only goal of the game.

Evaluating his team’s display, Grant said he was less impressed with the first-half performance.

“I think [in the] first half, I was not so happy with the performance, we didn’t manage to pass the ball like we wanted to pass the ball, quickly forward. But also, we need to say [a] good word about Tanzania, they caused us a lot of problems with the ball and without the ball.

“But second half it was better, we were the better team, we played better than the first half. It was not one of our greatest games but we deserve to win.” Grant said.

ZAMBIA FACE TANZANIA TONIGHT IN CRUCIAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

By: Sun Sports TV Reporter

he Chipolopolo Boys are set to take on Tanzania this evening at the 15,000-capacity Amani Stadium in Zanzibar in a crucial Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier. Coach Avram Grant is expected to field his strongest side as Zambia cling to a slim hope of progressing to the next stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Following a 2-1 loss to Morocco last month, Zambia must bounce back with a win to stay in contention, although their chances hang by a thread.

All eyes will be on midfield maestro Klings Kangwa, whose performance against Morocco stood out despite the team’s overall defeat.

The Hapoel Be’er Sheva star is expected to anchor the midfield once again, using his creativity, vision, and passing range to spark attacking opportunities for forwards Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka. With Miguel Chaiwa out injured, Emmanuel Banda, Benson Sakala, and Kelvin Kapumbu are likely to complete the midfield trio, with options like Kampamba and Clatous Chama available to make an impact off the bench.

Zambia currently sit fourth in Group E with six points, behind second-placed Tanzania on 10 points and Niger on nine.

Morocco have already secured top spot with 21 points, leaving the remaining teams battling for second place, which could earn them a spot in the intercontinental play-offs.

Kick-off is at 21:00 CAT and the match will be broadcast live on SuperSport.

CAF PRESIDENT MOTSEPE PRAISES FAZ FOR PROMOTING UNITY IN ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has commended Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba for his efforts to promote unity and peace among stakeholders in Zambian football.

FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande says Dr. Motsepe acknowledged the positive strides that the Mweemba-led FAZ executive has made in uniting the football family.
The commendation came during the just ended COSAFA meeting that was held on the sidelines of the 47th CAF Ordinary General Assembly.

Shepande explained that Dr. Motsepe specifically cited the decision by FAZ to incorporate football legend Kalusha Bwalya as a gesture towards unity and inclusion in the affairs of the Zambian football.

“The CAF President is impressed with the efforts being made to bring all stakeholders together. He pointed out that the inclusion of Kalusha Bwalya demonstrates a genuine desire to restore harmony and unity in our game,” Shepande says.

Dr. Motsepe also expressed admiration for the rapid growth of women’s football in Zambia especially with the globally recognisable stars in Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji who he described as shining examples of Zambia’s football talent.

The CAF President further encouraged Zambia to continue investing in grassroots football and to create more opportunities for young girls to participate in the sport.

Shepande noted that since his election in May this year, Mweemba has placed unity at the centre of his administration.
“Our administration has prioritised involving all football legends and former FAZ presidents in the running of the game. We believe that everyone who has contributed to Zambian football has a role to play in shaping its future,” he says.

He further highlighted that during the recent Zambia versus Morocco FIFA World Cup qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, FAZ extended invitations to all former FAZ Presidents, General Secretaries, and football legends to attend the match.
“While many of them attended, some declined without acknowledgment or apology. However, this will not discourage us. We shall continue to extend a hand of unity to everyone who loves the game,” Mr. Shepande said.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) reported a net profit of $9.48 million for the 2023–2024 financial year, reversing several years of losses.

CAF credited the turnaround to higher commercial revenues, new sponsorships, and tighter financial controls.
