ZAMBIA FACE TANZANIA TONIGHT IN CRUCIAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER
By: Sun Sports TV Reporter
he Chipolopolo Boys are set to take on Tanzania this evening at the 15,000-capacity Amani Stadium in Zanzibar in a crucial Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier. Coach Avram Grant is expected to field his strongest side as Zambia cling to a slim hope of progressing to the next stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Following a 2-1 loss to Morocco last month, Zambia must bounce back with a win to stay in contention, although their chances hang by a thread.
All eyes will be on midfield maestro Klings Kangwa, whose performance against Morocco stood out despite the team’s overall defeat.
The Hapoel Be’er Sheva star is expected to anchor the midfield once again, using his creativity, vision, and passing range to spark attacking opportunities for forwards Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka. With Miguel Chaiwa out injured, Emmanuel Banda, Benson Sakala, and Kelvin Kapumbu are likely to complete the midfield trio, with options like Kampamba and Clatous Chama available to make an impact off the bench.
Zambia currently sit fourth in Group E with six points, behind second-placed Tanzania on 10 points and Niger on nine.
Morocco have already secured top spot with 21 points, leaving the remaining teams battling for second place, which could earn them a spot in the intercontinental play-offs.
Kick-off is at 21:00 CAT and the match will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
