YOUTHS SHOULD VENTURE INTO ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITIES FOR JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC SURVIVAL - MULEBA

By Steward Simutowe

Fibobe ward Councilor Simon Muleba of Chifubu Constituency in Ndola has implored young people to venture into entrepreneurial activities instead of relying on white-collar jobs.

Speaking on Radio Chimwemwe's Youth Power Program, Mr Muleba said Zambia has numerous opportunities that can help young people become independent and run their own businesses, rather than waiting to be employed.

He appealed to youths to take advantage of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to acquire skills that can help them earn a living.

The civic leader emphasized the importance of youth participation in business, saying that with the current innovation, technology, and the power that lies in young people, Zambia is earmarked for greater things.

GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS POLITICISATION OF FISP IN KATETE VIDEO SCANDAL

By Chanda Chilebe Libuku

The Government has noted with serious concern a video circulating on social media from Katete District in Eastern Province, depicting farmers illegally sharing Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) seed and issuing misleading statements against President Hakainde Hichilema.

Ministry of Agriculture Principal Public Relations Officer Balewa Zyuulu has stated that investigations revealed the women in the video were mobilized by a named Chairperson of Mpilila Cooperative, linked to an opposition political party, who recorded and circulated the video to politicize the programme.

Mr Zyuulu explained that seven FISP beneficiaries in the video were persuaded to share farming inputs, violating Programme Guidelines.

Both the implicated farmers and cooperative will face disciplinary action.

He warned that such actions undermine progress made in curbing these practices.

HICHILEMA'S HATRED TALK DIVISIVE - MATAFWALI

Good governance activist Arden Matafwali has described the statement by Republican President Hakainde Hichilema, where he claimed that he is hated because of his tribe, as very divisive.

Speaking during Radio Chimwemwe's Big Breakfast Show yesterday, Mr Matafwali reminded the Head of State that this is not the first time that the majority of Zambians have expressed rejection of a bill, further saying that the country has had presidents in the past who had faced similar pressure from the public and civil society organizations over constitutional amendments.

He recalls that the current ruling party, while in opposition, was in the forefront to oppose Bill 10 under the reign of the Patriotic Front, and that no such utterances of hatred were made.

Mr. Matafwali says the only reason Zambians are speaking against the president is because he has not delivered what they expect of him, and not because of his tribe.

During his national address held at State House on Tuesday, President Hichilema alleged that opposition towards Bill 7 is because of hate against him.

TEBULU URGES CITIZENS TO THINK THROUGH PROPOSED BILL 7 PROPOSALS

By Chanda Chilebe Libuku

Masaiti youth and governance activist Mumba Tebulu has appealed to citizens to carefully consider some of the proposals in the proposed Bill 7, in order to have a law that will stand the test of time.

Speaking on Radio Chimwemwe's Know Your Leader programme, Mr Tebulu stated that citizens are entitled to their opinions and must be allowed to exercise democracy. He further urged the government to be as transparent as possible to remove doubts from some sections of society.

Meanwhile, Mr Tebulu has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for extending an invitation to dialogue over the planned protest, which has now been postponed.

He adds that the country will be moving in the right direction if it can have a leader like President Hichilema, who wants to sit around the table and have a discussion.

OASIS FORUM POSTPONES MARCH AGAINST BILL 7, OPTS FOR PRAYER RALLY INSTEAD

By Chanda Chilebe Libuku

The Oasis Forum has announced the postponement of its planned Peaceful March Past against Bill 7, which was scheduled for 28th November 2025.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the forum’s chairperson Beauty Katebe, the decision comes after the Forum heeded advice from the police, despite all formalities for the demonstration having already been completed.

Ms Katebe says the postponement creates space for constructive engagement, with a meeting now set with President Hakainde Hichilema at State House on the same day the march was initially planned.

She has explained that in place of the march, the Oasis Forum will hold an intercession prayer rally at Pope Square, Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka on 28th November 2025, beginning at 08:30 hours.

Ms Katebe has noted that the gathering is meant to seek the face of God as they prepare for dialogue with the Head of State.

She has since invited members of the public to attend, with black prescribed as the dress code.
