Our children in Nchanga Constituency carry the future of Chingola in their school bags. But for too many, that bag is empty, or the path to school is too difficult.

That ends with us.

Our children in Nchanga deserve a fair shot at a bright future, no matter their background. So let's invest in our greatest asset: our children. Because when they succeed, all of Nchanga succeeds.

As your aspiring Member of Parliament, I am committed to a future where every child, from Kapisha to Kamba.. nokwashala konse, has the tools to learn and thrive.

My plan is clear:
✅Sustainable School Supplies: Instituting a consistent 'Education Starter Pack' for learners in our poorest communities.
✅Supporting the Heroes: Working with our dedicated teachers to ensure they have what they need to shape young minds.
✅Safe Learning Spaces: Advocating for better classroom infrastructure and adequate attention.

Our children's potential is not the problem; ni lack of opportunity. Let's build that opportunity, together.

DEC Arrests Tanzanian and South African Nationals Over Drug Trafficking

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested two foreign nationals in separate operations linked to transnational drug trafficking offences.

In a statement issued in Lusaka, DEC Deputy Public Relations Officer, Theresa Mawere, said the arrests follow the Commission’s intensified border security operations.

She named the first suspect as Ally Yahya Ally, a 33-year-old Tanzanian national, who was intercepted at the Chirundu One-Stop Border Post while travelling from South Africa to Tanzania. He was found in possession of 111.9 grammes of loose cannabis and 100 millilitres of Hashish Oil concealed in ten syringes.

In another incident, the Commission arrested a South African national, Colete Emil, aged 39, for unlawful possession of six sachets of candy gummies weighing 20 grammes and containing 1.6 percent Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is above the legal threshold of 0.3 percent.

Both suspects are in lawful custody awaiting court appearances.

Meanwhile, Mawere clarified that a verification exercise had corrected the name of a person earlier mentioned in a press statement of August 26, 2025, in connection with the ZAMMSA matter. The individual’s correct name is Francis Nsenje, not Benjamin Nsenje, and he is the Finance Manager under the Peace Health, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) Project within the Ministry of Health.

The Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to working with national and regional partners to curb drug-related and financial crimes. It has also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.

HOW I WAS ATTACKED ON AN ACCIDENT SCENE BY IDENTIFIED MEN IN UNIFORM. 😔

On my way to an early assignment, I stumbled upon a fatal accident pa ring road joining Lilayi road. Since I had started off early, I thought, “Let me cover this story — I still have time.”

I jumped out of my vehicle, press card in hand, and began taking pictures. Suddenly, an officer — a commando — pushed me and barked: “Iwe, chik**la choka! You think this is ZNBC?”

I tried to explain politely: “Sorry sir, I’m just doing my job.” But before I could say more, my phone was grabbed, and I was roughed up.

I overheard one officer telling the other “Bazungu ni Mark Ziligone from ZNBC , and He was like I know this Nkongolo chap.”

Despite that, I was slapped, dragged, and my phone confiscated — only to be returned later.

Now, with bruises and more questions than answers, I can’t help but wonder, i guess not all Men in Uniform would treat journalists this way?

I have identified the Officer
First, let me get to the clinic.

Magistrate Recuses Himself from Kapwepwe Hate Speech Case

By Memory Bbuku

Lusaka Resident Magistrate Peter Mungala has recused himself from handling the case involving social media influencer Francis Kapwepwe, popularly known as “Why Me.”

Magistrate Mungala cited professional grounds for his decision to step aside from the matter, which came up today for a ruling on the defence’s application regarding the court’s jurisdiction.

He informed both parties that he could not proceed with the case and has referred it back to Chief Resident Magistrate Davis Chibwili for reallocation.

Once reassigned to a different court, Kapwepwe, aged 29, will be expected to take a fresh plea.

Kapwepwe is facing three counts of hate speech and expressing or showing hatred, ridicule, or contempt toward individuals based on race, tribe, place of origin, or colour.
