SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT OUR HISTORY MATTERS

There is no ground called Sunset Stadium in Samfya.

What exists, and has always existed, are:

1. Chiteta Ground

2. Chitika Ground

Chitika Ground was established around 1980 by the then head teacher Mr. Chitika (other names may have faded with time). The work was supervised by young, passionate footballing teachers:

Mr. Peter Kabokishi

Mr. Chipepe

Mr. Mabo

Mr. Shepe

Mr. Mulolo

Mr Kasuba

Mr Nsefu

As pupils, we took part in creating this ground near CMML Mission / Access Bank area.
There were no machines involved. We worked with hoes, energy, and commitment โ€” twaleimba ifishinde nenkasu.

It is painful to see history being erased and renamed so easily. Loving a name like Sunset Stadium should not mean killing the true story of a place built by local hands and sweat.

Let us respect and preserve our history for the generations to come.
History should be corrected, not rewritten. ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ BANGWEULU CONSTITUENCY, ZAMBIAโ€™S HIDDEN POLITICAL HISTORY ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ
Hey Ba Samfya! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿพ

The constituency boundaries have changed over time (e.g., split in 1968 into Bangweulu North, Samfya, and Samfya East, with some renamings), Notably, Hon. Scott Matafwali (father of Chifita Matafwali) served during the 1968-1978 gap in related constituencies. Also, Daniel P**e served from 1996-2001 , as Joseph Kasongo retained the seat in 1991 before being defeated in 1996.

Bangweulu (Samfya) is home to Lake Bangweulu, a lifeline for fishing and farming communities, yet its political history is rarely documented. With 2026 elections approaching, knowledge is power. ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ BANGWEULU CONSTITUENCY, ZAMBIAโ€™S HIDDEN POLITICAL HISTORY ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Hey Ba Samfya! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿพ

Bangweulu has seen major boundary changes:
- Split in 1968 into Bangweulu North, Samfya, and Samfya East.
- Re-established in 1983 by merging Samfya Central and Samfya South.

This explains why some names appear under slightly different constituency labels in the 1970s.

Quick Facts

- Located south of Lake Bangweulu, Samfya District, Luapula Province
- Economy: Fishing, cassava/maize/rice farming, small-scale trade
- Key challenges: Seasonal flooding, poor roads, limited electricity, high malaria/poverty rates
- Registered voters (2021): 57,856
- Historical leanings: UNIP stronghold (pre-1991), then MMD, now PF-dominant

๐Ÿ›๏ธ MPs TIMELINE (1964โ€“Present)

โ€ข 1991โ€“1996: Daniel P**e (MMD) โ€“ Defeated Joseph Kasongo in the 1991 multiparty elections; later served as Deputy Minister of Finance under President Chiluba.

โ€ข 1996โ€“2001: Daniel P**e (MMD) โ€“ Re-elected; later founded the Christian Democratic Party (CDP).

โ€ข 2001โ€“2006: Joseph Kasongo (Independent) โ€“ Dramatic comeback, won with strong local support (30,000 votes reported in some records).

โ€ข 2006โ€“2011: Joseph Kasongo (PF) โ€“ Joined Michael Sataโ€™s Patriotic Front.

Questions for the constituency:

- Will Hon. Anthony Kasandwe defend the seat?
- Potential challengers already being mentioned: Muchindu Mwape, Reuben K. Chama, Happy D. Mampa, and possibly others from UPND or independent tickets.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What do you think, Ba Samfya?
- Who do you consider the best MP Bangweulu has ever had?
- What should the next MP prioritise (roads, electricity, fishing cooperatives, youth jobs, flood control)?
- Your 2026 prediction?

๐Ÿšจ BREAKING. CAF DROPS THE HAMMER AFTER THE WILD AFCON 2025 FINAL CHAOS! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ vs ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

By Kasamwa Marvies

That Senegal vs Morocco final was pure madness late VAR penalty drama, Senegal's brief walk-off protest, lasers everywhere, ball boys acting up, ref confrontations... African football at its most intense! ๐Ÿ˜ฑโšก

CAF has ruled

Morocco's appeal to replay extra time or change the result? REJECTED!
Senegal remains the OFFICIAL 2025 AFCON CHAMPIONS! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‘‘ Trophy stays with the Lions of Teranga! ๐Ÿ’ช No changes!

Both teams got punished hard for the chaos on and off the pitch:

๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ SENEGAL โ€“ Total federation fines $615,000 + individual hits

- Supporters' improper conduct โ†’ $300,000 fine

- Players & technical staff unsporting behaviour (walk-off drama) โ†’ $300,000 fine

- Five yellow cards in the final โ†’ $15,000 fine

- Head Coach Pape Bouna Thiaw โ†’ $100,000 personal fine + suspended for 5 official CAF matches

- Players Iliman Ndiaye & Ismaila Sarr โ†’ Each suspended for 2 official CAF matches (unsporting behaviour towards the referee)

๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ MOROCCO โ€“ Total federation fines: $315,000 + player punishments

- Stadium ball boys' misconduct โ†’ $200,000 fine

- Players & staff misbehaviour (including referee review area issues) โ†’ $100,000 fine
- Fans using lasers โ†’ $15,000 fine

- Achraf Hakimi โ†’ Suspended for 2 CAF matches (one on probation in some reports)

- Ismaรซl Saibari โ†’ Suspended for 3 CAF matches + $100,000 fine

CAF made it clear: fair play and respect come first! Both federations paying heavy, but the crown stays with Senegal! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‘‘

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter is urging football fans to boycott the 2026 World Cup in the United States citing concerns over security and immigration enforcement. His remark follows the recent death of two Americans in Minnesota during a crackdown on immigration leading to widespread protests across the state. Blatter now joins a list of international soccer figures calling into question the suitability of the United States as a host country just months before kickoff.
