| Zimbabwe Braces For Heavy Rains and Severe Thunderstorms

The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a stern warning of continuous heavy downpours and severe thunderstorms across much of Zimbabwe this week.

The alert follows a weekend of significant rainfall, with some areas receiving over 50mm of precipitation.

The MSD forecasts an escalation in weather activity, with heavy rainfall probable in Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Matabeleland South, Midlands, Masvingo, Manicaland, and Mashonaland East. Moderate continuous rain is highly likely today, with unstable conditions expected to persist.

| MJ Sings Praises BAA's for Boosting Local Talent

Award-winning artist MJ Sings has hailed the Bulawayo Arts Awards for playing a key role in elevating local talent and shaping his music career.

The artist, who recently scooped the Outstanding Kwaito, House, Gqom and Amapiano Artist award, says the platform has helped him gain recognition both in Bulawayo and on the national stage.

The Skyz Metro FM Music Committee confirms details for the 2025 Top 100 Songs of the Year and the Skyz Metro FM Gospel Top 20.

The selection process for both charts followed the same criteria, based on airplay, listener requests, and performance on Skyz Metro FM chart shows throughout 2025.

Public voting for both charts will take place exclusively via the Skyz Metro FM WhatsApp Channel.

Voting for the Gospel Top 20 opens on Tuesday, 23 December at 6PM and closes on Sunday, 28 December at 10AM. The full chart order (1โ€“20) will be unveiled on Late Night Service with Brian B on Sunday, 28 December, from 9PM to midnight.

Voting for the Top 100 Songs of the Year opens on Wednesday, 24 December at 10AM and closes on 31 December 2025 at 10AM. The final Top 100 chart will be unveiled on January 1, 2026, starting from 6AM, by Skyz Metro FM presenters on rotation throughout the day.

| As part of its annual social responsibility programme, the Cityโ€™s Parking Management company, Tendy Three Investments (TTI), on Wednesday extended a helping hand to elderly and vulnerable residents across Bulawayo through the distribution of food hampers.

This year, 1 400 food hampers were donated, with 140 beneficiaries per housing office receiving essential groceries, ensuring support reached communities in all parts of the city.

The initiative underscores TTIโ€™s ongoing commitment to uplifting local communities and standing with those most in need, particularly during the festive season.

Speaking to Skyz Metro FM, TTI Managing Director Lizwe Mabuza said the programme is designed to ease the burden on vulnerable households while giving back to the community that continues to support the companyโ€™s operations.

: On this day in 2013, on Unity Day, a monument was unveiled to celebrate and immortalise the life and legacy of the late Father Zimbabwe, Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo.

The statue was officially unveiled by the late former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, as part of national Unity Day commemorations.

The iconic monument stands in the heart of Bulawayo, a city deeply intertwined with Dr Nkomoโ€™s life and contribution to the liberation struggle.

In his honour, the cityโ€™s Main Street was renamed Joshua Nkomo Street, permanently inscribing his legacy into the cityโ€™s identity.
