The suspected armed robber, who shot dead a police officer in Sanyati yesterday, used the same pistol that was used in the murder of Ruwa businessman Joseph Mutangadura in August this year, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi has revealed.

The suspect, Vengesai Jabulani Mutasa, aged 41, killed constable Courage Muchechesi in cold blood while recording a statement at ZRP Sanyati Charge Office.

Mutasa has since been arrested, making him the third suspect in the ongoing investigations in the murder of Mutangadura.

Police Constable Killed in Station Shooting, Suspect Linked to Ruwa Businessman Case

Constable Innocent Muchechesi was fatally shot inside the charge office.
The suspect, Vengesai Mutasa, was reportedly being sought by CID Homicide detectives in connection with the high-profile case of Ruwa businessman Joseph Mutangadura.
Mutasa had previously escaped a confrontation with detectives at his home, during which an officer was allegedly injured.
Police have since arrested the suspect.
