Excel Studios We do Videography, Photography, Live streaming, Adverts, Logo design, Documentaries for co-orporate & family events

When I purchased my first video camera in 2005 I had no idea the journey on which it would take me. I started by shooting photographs and along the way I was asked to film a wedding or two. What started as a handful of weddings has turned into a full-time production. Coming from a background much different than most event filmmakers gave me a different vision and approach to shooting and editing.

As I have grown along the years I have continued to learn and adapt new techniques that has enabled excel studios to become recognized as one of the top Production studios in town. I am proud that my experiences and success have lead to me being able to train and instruct other filmmakers in the city of Kings. I have spent more than 9years developing a style of filmmaking that heightens the art of Television Production. We pride ourselves on capturing not only the emotion of your day but creating a visual and auditory story that will make you feel like you are watching a real movie. Our films are so deliberately shot and edited that you'll think it was created by a motion picture studio. But as much as we want to make a great film for you, discretion is also important to us and we go to great lengths to make sure we are careful not to interfere with your day. It's the methods we've perfected over the course of many years. I invite you to view our sample films and teasers and then contact me personally so I can walk you through the packages and give your event the attention it deserves.

Ikig*i is a Japanese concept that translates to "reason for being" or "purpose in life." It represents the intersection of four key elements of life and helps individuals find fulfillment and balance. The term stems from "iki" (life) and "g*i" (value or worth).

Ikig*i is often depicted as a Venn diagram comprising four overlapping circles:

1. What You Love (Passion):
These are activities or pursuits that bring you joy and make you feel alive. It could be hobbies, interests, or things you feel strongly about.

2. What You Are Good At (Profession):
These are your skills, talents, and abilities—the things you excel at or have the potential to master.

3. What the World Needs (Mission):
These are contributions you can make to society or ways you can improve the world, fulfilling a broader purpose.

4. What You Can Be Paid For (Vocation):
This involves work or activities that provide financial compensation, ensuring sustainability in your life.

The Intersection of Ikig*i

The sweet spot where all four elements overlap is your ikig*i—your life's purpose or your reason to get up every morning. Other overlaps in the diagram reflect different life aspects:

Passion and Mission (but no income): Delight and satisfaction, but financially unsustainable.

Mission and Vocation (but no skills): Excitement with a sense of uncertainty.

Vocation and Profession (but no love): Comfortable but with a feeling of emptiness.

Profession and Passion (but no purpose): Satisfaction but a lack of meaning.

How to Find Your Ikig*i

Discovering your ikig*i involves self-reflection and exploration. Here are some steps to guide you:

1. Reflect on Your Passions: Identify what you truly love and enjoy doing.

2. Assess Your Skills: Consider what you are naturally good at or have developed expertise in.

3. Understand Your World Impact: Think about how your talents and passions can meet societal or global needs.

4. Evaluate Financial Viability: Consider if you can sustain yourself financially through your chosen pursuits.

Ikig*i in Daily Life

In Japan, ikig*i is not always tied to grand ambitions but can also be found in small daily joys and routines. It could be as simple as enjoying a morning cup of tea, spending time with family, or engaging in a favorite hobby.

By aligning your life with your ikig*i, you can achieve a greater sense of purpose, happiness, and balance.
