Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Trusting God means placing our full confidence in Him, even when life does not make sense. Often, we want answers before obedience, but God calls us to trust Him first. His wisdom is far greater than ours, and His ways are always perfect.
When we trust God, we release our fears, worries, and need for control into His hands. Trust does not mean the absence of challenges; it means believing that God is faithful in the midst of them. He sees the end from the beginning and works all things for our good.

“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act.” (Psalm 37:5)

I thank God for the life of the maidservant of God, Mama Guti. I have learned so much through her life, and today I want to share how her humility, obedience, and prayer life deeply impacted my life.
Some time ago, my wife and I were invited to her home. I was truly amazed by the level of humility I witnessed. Mama Guti personally cooked for us, poured water for us to wash our hands, and served us food herself. We tried to refuse, considering her stature and the great work God has done through her. My wife even said, “Mom, no, you can’t wash our hands.” She gently smiled and replied, “Daughter, this is what we were taught by our father, Baba Guti to host our visitors like angels.”
That moment transformed both my wife and me. It taught us that no matter how mightily God uses you, humility must always remain your foundation.
Another powerful lesson I learned from Mama Guti’s life is prayer.
One day, I received a call from Dr. GM. At that time, I was not yet a pastor, I was serving as a deacon in the church. She said, “Carlton, tonight we have an all-night prayer.” She never mentioned that Mama Guti would be there. To my surprise, when I arrived around 8:30 pm, Mama Guti was already present. We were only about six people in the room.
It was my first time praying with Mama Guti. I said to God, “Tonight, I want to see how Your maidservant prays.” From that moment until 4:00 am, my eyes were fixed on her. I had never witnessed such a depth of prayer and worship in my life. People of God, trust me, I had prayed in mountains, alone and with others but what I saw that night was different.
Later, I was invited again, this time for three days and nights of prayer and fasting as we prepared for ten days of prayer and fasting. I was not told that Mama Guti would be present. When I arrived, there were only about seven of us in the room. Before we began, she taught us how to pray. After that, we read the Word of God together.
We started praying at 8:00 pm and finished at 6:00 am. After a short refresh at 7:00 am, we gathered again for Bible reading and prayer, which continued until 7:00 pm. At 8:00 pm, we resumed prayer until 7:00 am the next morning. That was our routine for the full three days and nights.
I kept thinking to myself, “If Mama Guti prays like this with us, what must it be like when she prays alone with Baba Guti?” I had never seen such a life of prayer. What amazed me most was that during those long hours, she never dozed or slept. She remained fervent in prayer and worship throughout.
The atmosphere in that room was tangible , you could feel the presence of angels everywhere.
That experience transformed my life forever. Since then, I have lived a life marked by miracles. I have seen the Almighty God use me mightily in miracles, signs, and wonders.
I share this testimony to encourage you to level up your prayer life and to remind you that there are still true servants of God among us. God bless you 🙏

I remember this day so clearly. We were in Vumba Mountains, on the final day of our 7 days and nights of prayer and fasting with fellow student pastors as we prepared for practical deployment. I vividly recall the prayer requests I presented before God, every one of them was answered. One of my prayers was for God to touch Sidra’s heart and convince her to accept my love proposal. At that time, she had been turning me down for a full year. But after that season of prayer, she finally accepted my proposal the following year Altogether, it took nearly two years but God answered. And today, she is my wife.

I share this to encourage someone who has been praying for years: don’t be discouraged. Even when it seems like God is silent, He is working behind the scenes. Your season of answers will come, and you will be surprised when God begins to move on your prayers.
Remember the promise of Jesus in John 14:13: “I will do whatever you ask in My name.”
Keep praying. Keep trusting. God is faithful.
