It’s not about having all the answers on day one. It’s about where you spend your time, who you talk to, how you address yourself, your location, and the company you keep.
When I launched UtengTech (Utengese Technology), I didn’t have deep insights into the business I was starting. But I had something more valuable—research and the right circle.
I give all thanks to Tich Mataz, Tinashe Chibondo, Tapiwa Tpl Mhishi, Lawrence Francis , Donald Dee Donyboy. These men didn’t just encourage me—they built the person I am today.
We started from a tuckshop-like business formation. Nothing glamorous. Just hustle, faith, and shared vision. Today? Every single one of us owns his own company. That’s not luck—that’s God.
We came from Harare South, East, West—but we united to launch our first brand, Motiv8, a multi-media company based in Milton Park, Zimbabwe. Every day, we’d pool the money we earned, split it, and make sure each of us could go home and sleep. That was our discipline.
Then came Nowwwtv, founded by Tich Mataz. COVID-19 hit, and everything collapsed. Life became hard.
But that’s when I launched Utengtech. Because when one door closes, you build a new one.
📍 Lesson: Your empire isn’t built in isolation. It’s built in community, in struggle, and in faith. Surround yourself with people who sharpen you, and never underestimate where humility and research can take you.
