Dj Ollah has paved way for entrepreneurship for Radio and TV presenters
The decision by DJ Ollah 7 real name Owen Madondo, on November 13, 2023 to push his career solo was a big and bold entrepreneurship move a risk worth taking for someone who wants to achieve financial freedom.
Dj Ollah is renowned for his show 'Ollah on the spot' where he interviewed celebrities and public figures. Star FM gave birth to Dj Ollah and released him on his decision, he came to work without a name but in the 11 years he created a brand that attracts sponsorship. He is the brand ambassador for different organisation such as Chicken inn. He built a brand through his stage name which is attracting sponsorship from many different organisation because his content is looked for by his fans. Zimbabwe does not match the standard of other developed countries such as South Africa where it does not take 2 years for a presenter to purchase a car but it is normal for those in our nation to board same taxi with civilians on their way to work because they are not stable financially. Financial stability is of more value than fame in the streets, he has realized the opportunities he has by using his brand name as many are seeking his content.
Dj Ollah testifies of growing up in poverty under the care of his grandmother who took charge of him when he was 9 months old according to him. He landed the job at Star FM in 2012 where he auditioned at Alex Park where he qualified to be in the top eight from 2800 people. He had 0 radio experience when he landed the radio employment, his experience was more of touting as he had experience with taxi and clothing tout.The charismatic Dj, renowned for his powerful interviews on the "After Drive" did not disclose the reason behind his departure but he expressed gratitude during the emotional announcement where he individually thanked his colleagues and superiors at Star FM. He left the radio station in good terms with the management on his journey to embrace the opportunities that sustain personal development and growth.
Dj Ollah 7 has been seeing support when he made the decision to go solo with his content. He was given access by Tinashe Mutarisi to use his studio 'Nash studios' and many celebrities are offering themselves for interviews because they want him to benefit from his content. His first interview as independent was with Silent killer who is a Zimdancehall artist that was trending and making headlines on the social media platforms.
DJ Ollah's solo show 'Ollah 7 Podcast' is facing early challenges and negative remarks as viewers are expressing disappointment over sound quality. This setback could mean trouble for the renowned DJ as viewers are calling the poor production a “brand killer”.

"In other news, now that my bro DJ Ollah is now independent, maybe now we can finally do that interview. And why am willing to do that interview with him independently is the both of us can actually make money from it. And in way it's a direct invitation to advertisers who would want to maximize on that interview"
Content is King nowadays as it has become a source of income for many people in world through social media. Platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram has made it possible to earn money through the content being engaged by their audience. Reality is that these platforms have made many content creators into millionaires just by monitizing the content they upload through their accounts.
Many people have been able to open companies just by having a YouTube account or a page which has an audience following their work. Journalists, artist and all creatives including radio DJ's and TV personalities don't get paid much but their names are brands in our communities.
