🇿🇼 – A Hidden Gem Worth the Journey 🍽️🔥
Tucked away in Ngezi, about 150km outside Harare just off the Bulawayo Road, lies a culinary treasure that’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a nostalgic journey back home.
I first discovered Terry and his magic through Facebook. The traditional vibe of his content instantly drew me in – the kind of Zimbabwean authenticity you don’t come across every day. I made a promise to myself: I have to visit .
When I finally got the chance to fly home to Zimbabwe, I kept that promise. And let me tell you, it was worth every kilometre of the drive.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was unforgettable. We were warmly welcomed by the staff right in the parking lot and offered the freedom to choose any seating area from the beautifully curated spaces. Then came the menu – a wide selection of Mopane firewood-cooked traditional Zimbabwean dishes that stirred memories of childhood and heritage.
And the food? Unreal. The taste was like my grandmother’s kitchen – wholesome, rich, soulful. Every plate was wiped clean, and every bite was a reminder of how beautiful our culture is.
Then there’s Terry KwaTerry – humble, gracious, and quietly brilliant. Don’t let his humility fool you; the man is a genius. KwaTerry isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a vision in motion. You can tell he’s just getting started, and with the right support and a larger, more accessible space, he could build a true culinary paradise that puts Zimbabwean traditional cuisine on the map.
