The first Air Zimbabwe flight to Masvingo in 19 years has landed at Masvingo Airport, marking the resumption of the airline’s service to the province.

One person has died and three others were injured in a head-on collision at Masuwe Bridge along the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road.

On Sunday the 8th of March 2026 The Cape Town Cycle Tour (CTCT) was recognized as one of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Qualifier Cycling Event for the Annual Gran Fondo World Championships.

The top 25% of starters to finish the race in each age group category from 35 global qualifier events (CTCT being one of them) earn a spot to compete for the Rainbow Jersey at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships

Simbarashe Piniel Govo from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 was among the participants who qualified Top 25% in his age category during the 2026 CTCT event. He will carry his national colours with pride together with all other global participants in the 140km UCI Gran Fondo World Championship Cycling Race.

The 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships will be held in Niseko, Japan 🇯🇵 from the 26th of August to the 30th of August 2026.

The ZRP says it is investigating a video showing a police officer allegedly negotiating with tourists for an iPhone instead of issuing a US$30 fine for a traffic offence.

The video was first posted on an Instagram account called Buggyteeth. The tourists were stopped by a police officer for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and were told that the fine was US$30.

The tourists asked whether they could be given a warning instead of paying the fine. During the discussion, the police officer allegedly asked for an iPhone instead.

The ZRP says it has taken note of the video and launched an investigation to establish whether it is genuine and to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.

Police are also working to identify the officer involved and establish the date, time and location of the incident.

Seven people have died after a passenger ferry capsized off the coast of northern Cyprus, according to Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.

Search and rescue operations are under way for 23 people who remain missing.

The vessel was carrying 267 people, including 259 passengers and eight crew members. So far, 237 people have been rescued.

Hon. Daniel Garwe, Minister of Local Government and Public Works, is serving as the Chief Mourner at a memorial service for the 27 people who lost their lives in the devastating Chivhu road accident on Friday.

The event began with a traditional ceremony led by local traditional leaders at the accident scene, as families and community members gathered to honour the victims.
