Back to SCHOOL HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE: "The Bread, The Cup, and The Backpack"
Luke 22:19-20, John 6:35, Matthew 5:16
Theme: Carrying Jesus with you back to school.
Kids, before you go back to school, we donât just pack your bag with books and pens. Today we pack your heart with something even better â Jesus Himself.
Holy Communion is when we remember that Jesus gave His body, like bread, and His blood, like the cup, so we can always be close to Him. And as you go back to school, youâre not going alone.
1. The Bread = Jesus is your strength
Jesus said, âI am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry.â John 6:35
Think about it like this: You canât go to school all day without breakfast. Youâll be tired, you wonât focus, you wonât have energy.
Spiritually, itâs the same. You canât go through a school term without Jesus. Heâs the bread that gives you strength when homework is hard, when youâre bullied, when you feel left out. When you eat the bread today, remember: Jesus is giving you strength for every subject, every test, every friendship.
2. The Cup = Jesus is your forgiveness and new start..
Jesus said, âThis cup is the new covenant in my blood.â Luke 22:20
A new school term is like a new cup â itâs a fresh start. Maybe last term you made mistakes. Maybe you didnât do well in a test. Maybe you argued with a friend.
The cup reminds us that Jesus forgives and washes it all clean. When you drink from the cup today, youâre saying: âLord, Iâm starting fresh. Iâm not carrying last termâs failures into this term.â
You walk into that classroom with a clean heart and a new chance.
3. The Backpack = You carry Jesus to school
Hereâs the secret: After Communion, Jesus goes home with you. Not just in the church, but in your backpack, in your classroom, on the playground.
Youâre not just going to school to get good grades. Youâre going to school to represent Jesus.
BLESSINGS TO YOU OUR CHILDREN đ
