To our brothers and sisters returning home from South Africa:
Welcome home.
Zimbabwe is your home, and you will always have a place among us. Whether you are returning temporarily or permanently, know that you are loved, valued, and appreciated.
For many years, you carried the hopes of countless families. Some of you sent money that paid school fees, built homes, started businesses, bought food, and covered medical expenses. Others may not have been able to send money, but by working hard and supporting yourselves, you relieved your parents and families of that responsibility. Every sacrifice mattered.
Many of you left home while you were still young, risking uncertainty in search of a better future. You worked in difficult environments, often facing challenges that many of us never saw. Your resilience deserves our respect, not judgment.
If you are coming home after experiencing fear, uncertainty, or hostility, we want you to know this:
You are not strangers here. You are family.
Let us welcome our brothers and sisters with compassion, not criticism. Let us help them rebuild, reconnect, and find new opportunities. Home should be a place of healing, hope, and belonging.
To every Zimbabwean returning home: Welcome back. We appreciate your sacrifices. We love you. Together, we will continue building our nation. 🇿🇼❤️
