JUST IN>>>>>Gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano says she is not closing her comment section, while producer Clive Mono Mukundu has already shut his, adding that she values public feedback and wants to stay true to herself.
Here is what this story is all about.
Fungisai(Gospel Musician) and Mono (Music Producer) are two big names in Zimbabwean music, and they do not see eye to eye on a few things right now. First, Fungisai is unhappy with a cover band called The Intotal Band. She says they copy not just her songs but also her dance moves, clothes and how she performs on stage, and she feels this is not right.
(Producer Mono), on the other hand, says cover bands are not the real problem. He believes the bigger issue is that Zimbabwe's copyright system does not work well, so artists do not get paid when their music is played or covered.
The two also disagree about who produced Fungisai's early songs, with each giving a different account of what happened. At the center of this is an important question: should artists have more protection under the law when other people use their music and their image for money? This debate has got many people in Zimbabwe talking about what is fair and how the music industry should be run.
