There is no "mental wealth" without accountability. Today, we share the story of Spencer.
Spencer just walked out of prison after serving two years for a choice he can never take back—severely beating his wife. He was released under the recent Presidential Amnesty, but he says he didn’t just leave a cell; he left an old version of himself behind.
For Spencer, the road to violence was paved by drugs and alcohol. He admits they clouded his mind and stole his humanity. But today, he stands before us as a "new creature." He has put down the bottle, walked away from the drugs, and found a new mission.
Our Constitution of Zimbabwe, Section 80 (1), is very clear:
> "Every woman has full and equal dignity of the person with men..."
Spencer learned the hard way that when you lift your hand against a woman, you are not just breaking a heart—you are breaking the supreme law of the land and your own dignity.
Spencer’s message to fellow Zimbabwean men is simple:
"Do not do what I did. Do not let drugs and rage turn you into a monster. Respect your wives. Put them in their rightful positions as partners, not targets. A real man protects; he does not destroy."
At Zim Life Lines, we believe in reformation. We believe that if you fix the mind, you fix the home. Let’s choose respect over rage. Let’s choose our families over the "guka" and the bottle.
