Father’s Quest for Justice Uncovers Sinister Truth Behind Son’s Death

A father’s grief turned into a determined quest for justice after suspicions of foul play emerged surrounding the death of his 26-year-old son, Godrich Muchecheterwa. Godrich passed away on May 24, 2023, after visiting his girlfriend, Tanatswa Moleni, at her family’s homestead in Hwedza.

Initially, the family believed Godrich died from poisoning, but inconsistencies and unanswered questions led them to suspect otherwise. When Emmanuel Muchecheterwa, Godrich’s father, saw his son’s body at the mortuary, he noticed a distinct scar on his head, which was never explained.

Driven by instinct, Muchecheterwa demanded a post-mortem examination, which was conducted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare. The initial results indicated food poisoning, but the unexplained wound on Godrich’s head continued to trouble the family. A second post-mortem revealed evidence of foul play, solidifying the family’s suspicions. Read more...

High Court Saves Villager from 12-Head Herd Hijack

A Mazowe villager was ordered to pay 12 cattle in crop compensation for allegedly destroying a neighbor’s maize crop. But Christopher Chisango refused to take the hit and took his case to the High Court.

The drama began when Kuhlengisa Machona accused Chisango’s cattle of munching on his maize, demanding $4,400 in compensation. Chisango admitted liability, but things got messy when he realized the damages weren’t scientifically assessed and the payment was in US dollars, which was like trying to pay rent in Monopoly money. Man Jailed for Strangling Neighbors’ Chicken Over Zapnax

In a bizarre court case that left everyone in stitches, 26-year-old Mduduzi Maqondana was hauled before the magistrate for stealing and strangling his neighbor’s prized c**k. The incident occurred after Maqondana was turned away for buying snacks on credit, which apparently sparked a fowl-tempered reaction.

According to the court, Maqondana allegedly sneaked into his neighbor’s yard, snatched the c**k, and strangled it to death in a twisted act of revenge. The court couldn’t help but wonder what kind of snacks Maqondana was trying to buy that would drive him to such drastic measures. Read more...

Flo Petroleum Fined for Mixing their Fuel with Water

Flo Petroleum, a company with a knack for selling contaminated fuel, has been fined $350 by Harare magistrate Mr. Gamuchirai Gore after being found guilty of selling fuel that would make your car go “ouch.”

The saga began on April 22, 2025, when Shakespear Kunaka, a fuel quality technician and inspector employed by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA), visited Flo Petroleum’s filling station located at 905 Arcturus Road, Donnybrook, Harare. Kunaka had received reports that the station was selling blend petrol contaminated with water. Upon inspection, Kunaka confirmed the complaints were valid – petrol from the nozzle showed signs of water contamination. Together with officials from the fuel company, he tested the tank using water-finding paste, which indicated the presence of water. Chinese National Caught with Rhino Horns and Ivory Bonanza

In a bizarre incident, a 57-year-old Chinese national, Cong Yanzhong, was arrested in Harare for possessing a stash of wildlife contraband that would make a poacher proud. The haul included three rhinoceros horns and over 36 kilogrammes of ivory, because who needs decor when you can have endangered species?

The authorities received a tip-off and raided Cong’s residence, where they found the illicit goods hidden in sacks with a weighing scale that had apparently been calibrated to weigh the weight of justice. The rhino horns were valued at a whopping $240,000, while the ivory was worth $6,145 – a small price of nothing compared to the environmental damage caused. Zimbabwe’s Catholic Church Faces Vocations Drought

The Catholic Church in Zimbabwe is experiencing a holy crisis: a severe shortage of priests. The country’s only Major Seminary, Chishawasha, has seen a steady decline in vocations over the past decade. In fact, this year’s crop of seminarians is the smallest in decades – a paltry 95 students.

Fr. Bernard Mukwewa, Rector of Chishawasha, blames the decline on the breakdown of the traditional African family unit. “When the nucleus family breaks down, it triggers a wide range of challenges that affect the development of vocations,” he said. Bishop Rudolf Nyandoro of Gweru agrees, citing economic hardship, substance abuse, and societal shifts as major obstacles. Read more...
