Chawonza calls for unity and peace within DeMbare family, urges support to save team from relegation
Former Dynamos vice chairman Vincent Chawonza has called for unity and peace within the Dynamos family, urging all stakeholders to stop pointing fingers at each other over the team’s poor performance and instead focus on helping the club avoid relegation.
Chawonza believes the club's struggles are being worsened by internal divisions, starting from the leadership, through to former players and even the fans, which he says is unhealthy, especially during this critical time.
“Dynamos is a big club. We all love it. So I urge the Dynamos family to prioritise unity and peace at this crucial time when the team needs to survive relegation,” Chawonza said.
“I don’t think blaming each other will solve anything. If anything, it only makes the situation worse. As Chazunguza, we have always been known for our unity, that has been our strength over the years.
“There are ten games left, and the team is currently in the relegation zone. This is the time to show each other love.
"A pat on the back, especially for the players, goes a long way in motivating them. It’s more vital now than ever.”
DeMbare revived their hopes of survival last weekend with a crucial 1-0 win over MWOS at Rufaro Stadium.
Reports indicate that Sakunda Holdings, along with Harare businessman Brighton 'Panjap' Ushendibaba, have pledged to pay the team’s winning bonuses.
They started with the MWOS match and will do so until the end of the season, an initiative that aligns with Chawonza’s call for collective support.
