Fuve Panganai Irrigation Scheme, spanning wards 14 and 15 in Zaka, is poised to make a significant contribution to national food security, with 250 hectares of land under wheat expected to yield more than 1,300 tonnes this season. The harvest will be delivered to the Grain Marketing Board (GMB).Speaking during a field day programme at the scheme, Agricultural Rural Development Advisory Services (ARDAS) Provincial Deputy Director Taringana Makiwa applauded the farmers for their exemplary agricultural practices. Taringana noted that the project’s success is a testament to the effectiveness of proper land management and modern farming techniques.

Masvingo Province is set to host the 2025 Heroes Day and Zimbabwe Defence Forces Day commemorations with a vibrant lineup of events celebrating national pride and honouring the sacrifices of the country’s heroes and heroines.
The Heroes Day celebrations will be held on Monday, 11 August 2025, at the Provincial Heroes Acre, while Mucheke Stadium will host the Defence Forces Day commemorations on Tuesday, 12 August 2025. Both events are expected to draw large crowds and feature entertainment, cultural displays, and patriotic reflections.
The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Ezra Chadzamira, has called on residents of Masvingo and surrounding areas to attend in large numbers, highlighting the significance of these national holidays.

Great Zimbabwe University's August 2025 Semester Orientation Kicks Off!

The Robert Mugabe School of Heritage and Education at Great Zimbabwe University's City Campus hosted the official start of the orientation program for newly enrolled students. The event featured informative presentations from key university departments, including Student Affairs, Examinations Office, Security Department, and more. External stakeholders like the Zimbabwe Republic Police, My Age Zimbabwe, UNESCO, and others also participated, covering topics such as substance abuse and domestic violence awareness.

The orientation will continue tomorrow, August 7, 2025, at the Mashava Campus, ensuring all new students are fully inducted into university life. Great Zimbabwe University is excited to welcome its new students and is committed to providing them with the necessary tools and support to thrive. The university's efforts aim to equip students with the knowledge and resources needed to succeed in their academic pursuits.
