Karenyi Hands Over Biochemistry and Science Laboratory to Chikanga Secondary

Mutare, 9 August 2025 - Chikanga Secondary School has received a state-of-the-art Biochemistry and Science Laboratory, a milestone hailed as a game-changer for science education in the constituency.

The facility was officially handed over on Thursday by Chikanga Member of Parliament Lynette Karenyi, who funded the project through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Addressing guests that included Ministry of Education officials, school authorities, councillors, parents, and students, Honourable Karenyi said the laboratory was a symbol of the community’s commitment to empowering young people with skills needed in the digital era.

*City of Mutare Commissions New Equipment, Opens Chikanga Phase 2 Primary School*

*Mutare, 9 August 2025* - The City of Mutare yesterday officially commissioned various pieces of service delivery equipment and opened the newly constructed Chikanga Phase 2 Primary School, in a ceremony marked by jubilation among residents and officials.

The event was presided over by Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Eng. Benjamin Kabikira, who represented Minister Daniel Garwe.

In his keynote address, Minister Garwe commended the city for uniting behind development goals.

*Leo Club Hosts Fundraising Event for Chitakatira Fire Victims*

*CHITAKATIRA, Aug 8, 2025* – The Leo Club of Chitakatira High School on Tuesday hosted a vibrant fundraising event to assist three children who were left homeless after a fire gutted their family home in Mutare District, leaving them without food, clothes, or money for urgent medical treatment.

The charity program, held at Chitakatira High School, also marked the launch of the Children’s Care Fund, a self-reliance initiative spearheaded by Hon. Tatenda Obrey Mayseane Mukukuwanda, Junior Member of Parliament for Mutare South Constituency.

The fund’s motto is “African problems can best be solved by African solutions”, reflecting its vision of empowering rural communities to respond to crises from within.

*Buhera, Murambinda, August 4, 2025* – Telecommunications giant NetOne, in partnership with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), on Saturday held a highly successful roadshow at Murambinda Growth Point in Buhera, bringing essential mobile services closer to rural communities.

The event, which attracted hundreds of residents, saw the NetOne team engaging directly with customers offering services such as OneMoney registrations, SIM card sales, and SIM replacements.

Speaking during the roadshow, a NetOne official said the initiative aimed to bridge the digital gap by ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the fast-growing digital economy.
