Vale Jenny Dowell.

The Far North Coast of NSW and Lismore City particularly has lost one of it's leading lights. Former Mayor Jenny Dowell (a woman who still had a finger in so many pies and on the pulse of her town from the library to the arts, cancer council events, parkrun and botanic gardens, even in retirement and even as she became increasingly unwell with cancer. A local musician penned this and popped it up on her Facebook wall this morning. and it seemed like a fitting tribute.
When I was working on Seniors papers for the Northern Rivers - I wondered how I would get content for Lismore living on the Tweed and i turned to her. She knew everybody, saw everything and was always willing to support everyone - including a local journo from the coast.
