This is exactly what I was expecting after Dr Muhammad Yunus’s visit to Malaysia. A few days ago, I saw that students from 32 nationalities were eligible for a one-year post-study work visa after completing their degree in Malaysia, but Bangladesh was not on that list, something I didn’t know before. My brother is currently studying at the University of Malaya, and I felt sorry for him thinking he wouldn’t be able to gain any industry experience after graduation, unlike my own experience of receiving a 5 year post-study work visa in Australia.

Thank you, Dr Yunus, for taking this great initiative on behalf of all Bangladeshi students in Malaysia. This has been a significant discrimination for years, with Bangladeshi students excluded from the graduate visa opportunities that others enjoyed. Hopefully, this change will open doors for their careers and future.

The WA Government is currently inviting public feedback on potential changes to the state's public holidays, including:

2. Modifying the date(s) of existing public holiday(s)

🚨 The Department of Home Affairs has released updated English language requirements.

💥Changes apply to the following visas:

✔️ Skilled Migration Visas
✔️ Temporary Graduate (485) Visa
✔️ Other related visa applications

🗓️ Change Date: 7 August 2025

🚨New standards apply to tests taken on or after 7 August 2025. If you took your test today or earlier, the previous requirements still apply.

💥Key Highlights:

🎯DHA is accepting new tests for migration purposes: LanguageCert and MET
🎯For Superior English (IELTS 8.0 equivalent) - PTE 69 Listening; 70 Reading; 85 Writing & 88 Speaking
🎯For Proficient English (IELTS 7.0 equivalent) - PTE 58 Listening; 59 Reading; 69 Writing & 76 Speaking
🎯Lower PTE scores required for Competent, Vocational and Functional English
🎯Lower PTE score required for visa 485

Long story short: If you need 20 points for Superior English (PTE) you need to score PTE 69 Listening; 70 Reading; 85 Writing & 88 Speaking. No more 20 points for 79 each band
