🏛️ A Glimpse into Sandgate’s Civic Past 🗳️

Did you know Sandgate once ran its own local council?

Back in 1880, 61 passionate locals petitioned for municipal status. For the next 45 years, Sandgate handled its own roads, drains, street lighting, and swimming baths.

But by 1925, Sandgate's independent council was absorbed into what we now know as Greater Brisbane.

📚🔧 Sandgate Library is Getting a New Roof! 🔧📚

Starting 7 October, Sandgate Library will close for about six weeks for important roof repairs — but don’t worry, the community won’t miss out on library fun!

🌳 Join Children’s Storytime pop-ups at Einbunpin Park every Tuesday morning (7 Oct – 14 Nov, 9:30–10:30am, weather permitting).
🚐 The mobile library will be at Decker Park car park in Brighton on Mondays from 6 October, 9:30am–12pm.
📍 Plus, nearby Zillmere and Bracken Ridge libraries are open.
