Release day for dear fried of the Mude team and loved working on the branding and creative for his debut single ‘Self Defence’.

is one of Australia’s most respected songwriters — crafting hits for Guy Sebastian and working chart-toppers across Korea and Japan — Ned built his career behind the scenes, a comfortable distance from the spotlight. Now, backed by 3Keys Records and armed with a collection of unreleased songs, he’s stepping forward, finally placing himself at the centre of his own story.

One of the brand’s quiet signatures is the wordmark itself, the ‘Houston’ line beneath his first name is set in his mum’s handwriting. It’s her maiden name, and a subtle tribute to the person who gave it to him.

We deliberately centred Ned’s visual storytelling around his hometown of Canberra. While his career has seen him constantly on the move — writing in studios across Stockholm, Nashville, Korea, and beyond — this release felt distinctly personal and needed to be anchored to his origins.

launched five years ago as a curated tastemaker series, a platform built purely from passion for advocating the artists we believed the world needed to hear. Our original art direction — inspired by classic Hollywood aesthetics — combined cinematic title cards with a moody, slightly edgy presence on social platforms.

Five years on, we felt it was the right time to give the branding a refresh to maintain the series’ vitality and relevance. We’ve evolved towards a bolder, cleaner, modern-contemporary aesthetic, while carefully preserving the moody essence inherent to our name and iconic to the series.

Another goal was to make the identity more scalable. The updated design system brings consistency to the way the brand shows up across video title cards, social templates, and the website, making it easier to scale the brand while maintaining its distinct visual language.

We want Mood on the Roof to be known for taste. For high production value. For championing emerging artists before everyone else does. A series where sound matters, where live performance is treated with reverence, and where artists feel proud to be featured. We want to be a trusted name in music culture: part discovery platform, part cultural archive. With our refreshed identity, we signal our continued relevance, and underscore the enduring role we play in spotlighting acts we passionately believe should top everyone’s playlists.

NEW WORK — We were engaged by the Australian Government to shape the motion design experience for Australia’s pavilion at COP29 — the annual climate summit. It was a privilege to work with Kayannie Denigan’s ‘My Country’ series — bringing her artwork to life through motion, and carefully extending it across large-format screens to reflect the connection between land, water and sky. The result was a calm, grounded presence for Brand Australia — a culture-tuned space that honoured Country while setting the tone for Australia’s role in the global climate conversation. 🙏🏼

NEW WORK // Branding for a solar disrupter taking on the Big Energy retailers and put power back in people’s hands.

We partnered with Sunstrata to evolve their brand into something sleeker, smarter, and more confident—stripping away the clichés of the solar industry to build a sharper identity with real edge. The updated brand speaks directly to modern energy users: no fluff, no greenwashing—just honest, intelligent design that reflects the simplicity and strength of Sunstrata’s end-to-end solar and battery solutions. From tone of voice to visual language, the rebrand brings clarity, credibility and a little bit of attitude to a sector that desperately needs it.

This refreshed identity flowed into a refresh on the current website, with a restructured site architecture that improves user journeys and highlights the core offerings with clarity and confidence. We also rolled out a full suite of digital marketing creative—from organic social content to paid Meta campaigns—designed to cut through the noise, challenge outdated energy narratives, and position Sunstrata as the smart choice for Australians ready to take control of their power.

A fleeting opportunity to turn the studio cyclorama into a canvas with synesthesia artist 🎧 Inspired by the sounds from our resident music producer, — Sarah’s synesthesia allowed her to paint what she “hears” — translating sound into vibrant colours, textures, and motion.

Synesthesia is a rare neurological condition where one sense involuntarily triggers another, allowing individuals to experience sensations like seeing colours when they hear sounds or associating specific tastes with certain words or numbers.

Sarah, a renowned American abstract artist, experiences sound in ways most of us can only imagine. With over 100 million views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, her story has captured global attention, with features on HGTV and even the Guggenheim Museum, where she was compared to synesthetic legend Wassily Kandinsky.

She’s also taken her artistry to the stage, collaborating with musicians in live concert painting events, creating visual masterpieces as the music unfolds in real time.
