DEAD WEIGHT CITIZENS BRIGADE - THE OMNIBUS
In August of 2018, Taylor Moorey released the first Dead Weight Citizens Brigade project, "human ExPerimentation"; an aptly named collection of noise, soundscapes, and plunderphonics that kicked off seven years of further work, including several live performances with local Vancouver talent and a partnership with Scott McGowan and The Evan Williams Project for a special evening at the Arts Umbrella.
After the release of "To be a Good Man?" in 2024 (a joint project between DWCB and ZeroΣ), Moorey and McGowan sought to remaster a selection of original tracks to provide an introduction to the project for future listeners. "The Omnibus" serves not just as a rework of these pieces - it re-contextualizes them in a new way, bringing together sounds that were birthed years apart from each other into a familial relationship. Each track represents an era, once frozen in time, given a fresh breath of life at the hands of McGowan.
This is a mission statement. This is Dead Weight Citizens Brigade.
