DEREK MILLER IS COMING TO TERRACE!!! 🎸
That’s right — the legendary Derek Miller will headline Concerts in the Park 2025 on Saturday, August 2 at George Little Park!
Hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River, Derek is a two-time JUNO Award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his powerful blend of roots rock and soul-driven blues. He’s performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremonies and shared stages with icons like Smokey Robinson, George Thorogood, and The Neville Brothers. With 17 albums under his belt and a reputation for bringing serious heat to the stage, this is a show you’ll want to be front row for.

Some say when the Mount Royal wrecked in Kitselas Canyon, its heavy safe—filled with gold—was lost to the river. But historical records say otherwise.

🎉 Riverboat days society Just named 2025 Riverboat Days Ambassador 🎉

This year’s Riverboat Days Ambassador is none other than Stan Bevan — master carver, cultural educator, and respected Tahltan / Tlingit / Ts’msyen artist.

With over 46 years of dedication to Indigenous art and mentorship, Stan has helped shape the cultural landscape of Northwest BC. From his early training at the Gitanmaax School to co-founding the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art in Terrace, Stan’s impact spans generations.

His most recent work, Su-gigyet, unveiled in Thornhill this summer, is already being recognized as a regional landmark and a celebration of Indigenous identity and resurgence.

As 2025 Riverboat Days Ambassador, Stan represents the powerful intersection of tradition, innovation, and community leadership.

Join us in honouring Stan Bevan and celebrating the rich culture and history of the Northwest during Riverboat Days!

📜 Before the Sternwheelers
Before the first steam engine ever touched Skeena waters, Indigenous paddlers moved people, goods, and stories through dense forest and canyon.
When the Collins Telegraph Company failed to move supplies up the river, it was local Nations who stepped in—with knowledge, strength, and cedar canoes.
