WORKSHOP IN PROGRESS officially begins ⚡️

This self-made garage has been through MANY identities over the years, and if you’ve been following along from the start, you’ll know how much this makeover means to me. I’m finally ready to turn it into the functional workshop of my dreams!

To kick this makeover off, we’re tackling tool storage and creating a mobile flush-mount miter saw station!

This space is going to become the home of all the future DIY magic, whimsical ideas & power tools - And honestly? I can’t wait 🖤

DIY Faux Rustic Beam ✨ Entryway Makeover!

I got BIG and EXPENSIVE entryway updates… What we thought was ice damning causing leaks in our walls, was actually a roof that needed replacing.🤦‍♀️ What an unwelcome, expensive surprise.

At this point in the entryway makeover, I was in full damage control. I knew there was no immediate fix to the roof problem, so I tackled the crooked beam and transom frame. I love how the faux rustic beam turned out, it’s added so much warmth to the entryway but the finishing details will have to wait.

I excited to eventually add stained glass into the transom. 💜

The work in this entryway is sadly being put on pause, but don’t worry…I’ll be back to working on it once my roof woes are resolved. Stay tuned! ❤️

Not all home renovations go to plan… 🤦‍♀️

Welcome back to my entryway makeover series where I tackle my front entry with some serious DIY elbow grease.

I knew opening up this closet was a bold move, but I needed to reclaim every inch of space I could get in this small entryway. ✨

Everything was going smoothly until it wasn’t.

The second I opened things up I found damp wood… And that’s when I realized - this wasn’t a new problem. Water has slowly been wicking into my home for years 😳

After a bit of investigating, I’m fairly certain we’re dealing with an ice dam issue so I installed deicing cables as a first step to stop things from getting worse.

But now I’m wondering… Is this actually the problem… or is this just the beginning? 👀

Welcome to the beginning of my entryway makeover! ✨

The entryway of a house is the first chapter in your home story… which is why it’s been so important to me to get this right.

In the past, I’ve really relied on quick DIY solutions to give this entryway some cosmetic updates. But my skills have grown, and so has my design style!

I’m ready to tackle this reno and rewrite the intro of my home story! 💜

Stick along for the ride… this is gonna be a bumpy one. Mostly because old century farm homes like mine have TONS of surprises and secrets in their walls 🤫

I love garden experiments!! 🌱✨

I learned that Hydrangea colour is controlled by soil pH and how available aluminum is to the plant. So adding things to your garden can change their colour depending on what you add!

If you want PINK hydrangeas 🌸 (raise the pH/ make soil more alkaline based) you can add:

- garden lime (very common and reliable)
- wood ash from a fireplace or wood stove - it contains calcium carbonate and potassium (use lightly because it works FAST)
- crushed egg shells - very slow and natural method that adds calcium

If you want BLUE hydrangeas🪻 (lower the pH to make soil acidic) you can add:

- aluminum sulfate - the fastest and most common way
- elemental sulfur - slower but long lasting
- pine needles or composted leaves - natural and gentle
- coffee grounds - mildly acidic, but not always strong enough on their own.

Garden science is half the fun of gardening!

I’m trying again this year … do drop your favourite gardening tips below! 👇

Still Jumping for joy over this table ✨

This bright, modern boho inspired coffee table might not be everyone’s aesthetic - but it’s perfect for my friend Deb. Watching her step into a new chapter and redefine her style has been so inspiring, and I’m honoured I could make something that helps her space feel a little more like home.

I truly believe everyone deserves a home that feels safe, sparks creativity, and reflects who they are on the inside. This table is just one small piece of Deb’s fresh start.

If you were designing a coffee table for your space, what would it look like? ✨
