After 26 years of waiting, ‘Collection’, which compiles the only two EP releases from Helicon Blue, will officially be available to stream digitally for the first time ever.
Helicon Blue, made up of Marce Lantaigne, Nicholas Osczypko, and Dallas Green — was one of Green’s early projects before City and Colour and Alexisonfire. Emerging from the St. Catharines music scene of the late ’90s and early 2000s, the band developed a distinct alternative rock sound that resonated deeply within the local community. Drawing on influences like Sunny Day Real Estate, Smashing Pumpkins, Mogwai, and others, they created a signature “grunge bubble” that helped define the era in St. Catharines.
Now, as Helicon Blue’s music arrives on digital streaming platforms for the very first time, ‘Collection’ stands as both a snapshot of a formative moment in Canadian alternative music and a testament to the lasting impact the band and Green continue to have today.
‘Collection’ will be available to stream everywhere this Thursday, June 11.
