TOPIC: INSTRUCTIONS TO GODLY HUSBANDS (PART 2)

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:25-27
25. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26. That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27. That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

KEY VERSE: PROVERBS 22:24-Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:

Do Not Be Quick To Anger At Your Wife: Love is not easily provoked. Anger destroys a marriage. An angry man should not be a pastor. Woe is the life of she who has married an angry man. Her life will be tough. Her laughter will be hypocritical to please the angry man. She will hide her pain, fear and sorrow.

Imagine the fear a mad dog gives; even though it is chained, you still pass by it with great fear. You may decide to pass another way or retreat altogether. This is how an angry man makes his family to live with him. He will neither permit mistakes as everyone does nor simple errors like adding much salt to food. Take that anger to God in prayer.

Love is not easily provoked. When your wife does or says something wrong, make room for learning. Your home will be fantastic when you make room for people to learn from their mistakes instead of quickly getting provoked each time. Naturally, when your wife makes a mistake, she will be troubled, wondering, "What will I tell this man?” If she tells you what happened, and you say, "It is okay," she will rejoice and thank God for a wonderful husband. Do not be quick to be provoked to anger.

Do Not Be Careless And Foolish: Charity does not behave unseemly. Why do you misbehave as a fool? Why did you pour water on your wife because she made a mistake? Why did you beat your wife or throw her to the ground? You lose your respect by doing that. She thought you were a man of wisdom but is seeing folly in you. A little folly in a man esteemed to be a man of wisdom turns him into a fool.

Do Not Be Selfish To Your Wife: Love seeks not its own. You went out, bought some roasted meat, and sat in the living room, eating it alone. You did not give your wife or children. If what you eat is good, it is also good for your wife. Do that which gives joy and satisfaction to your wife as Christ would do for the Church.

Thought for the day: Pray that God should teach you how to love your wife.

KEY VERSE: 1 CORINTHIANS 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up...

Love Your Wife: Open your heart to your wife. Learn to smile and laugh joyfully with your wife. Cherish your wife. Always enjoy the companionship of your wife. It goes beyond that – Love your wife as Christ also loves the Church. Do not love in the realm of the natural man. Go to the realm of Christ. Christ loved the Church.

Do Not Boast Or Be Proud To Your Wife: Charity does not vaunt itself, is not proud and not boastful. Why do you say, "I have to show this woman I am greater than her?" Did Jesus show us that we are nothing? Do we not know that He is all things? Why should your wife be under bo***ge because of you? You say I am great; I am the man; I am the head.

Should your wife see you as a terrorist in the house? Should you subject her to bo***ge? Should you make her a second class in your home? Do not be boastful. Does the Lord boast to the Church? Instead, He says, "What I have is yours, all my Father has is yours, all I have acquired is yours. There are yet more riches you have not seen. There are yet more riches waiting for you." So, make your wife understand that all you shall have in life is hers.

Do Not Be Evil To Your Wife: Love thinketh not evil. Work it out in your heart. Actions come from thoughts. As a man thinketh, so is he. Remove the evil thoughts from your mind if you do not want to act ungodly. Reject those evil thoughts you have towards your wife immediately after they come. Keep sweeping your mind, so those evil thoughts will not settle against her.

If your wife has a blemish or infirmity in her physical body, set not your mind on it. Love does not rejoice in iniquity. Do not rejoice when your wife is sick. When negative thoughts invade your mind, kick them out. Do not allow your wife to notice that you delight in her fall. Do not let her see you glad by a mishap in her family. Love your wife as Christ loves the Church.

Thought for the day: Remember that your wife is a part of you, do not hurt it!.

TOPIC: JESUS WANTS HIS Church PURGED AND SANCTIFIED FROM SIN

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:25-27

KEY VERSE:EPHESIANS 5:27 That He might present it to Himself a glorious church not having spot, or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Jesus did not want His gospel to be abused, that is why He said, "Father sanctify them. I am not physically with them in the world. If I were in the world, some of them will look at Me and hide themselves. For righteousness to flow freely among the overseers, chapter coordinators, pastors and teachers, choristers, ushers and members, you need to be sanctified.

If you are removed from the work, you will not have grudges against people, and your mind will be peaceful. The sinful nature is abusing the commission of holiness that God has given to HOREMOW. Due to the manifestation of adamic and carnal nature, people are withdrawing from God and His service. The adamic nature or inward pollution needs to be purged.

Go back to God for sanctification. John the Baptist overcame temptation to envy over the ministry of Jesus. They told him, "Do you know the other man you bore record of is baptizing more people than you? "John said, "You are witnesses, l told you that l am not He. He that is coming is greater than I, whose shoes latchet l am not worthy to stoop down and loose.” It takes sanctification of heart to say this. This is Holiness.

He does not want you to interfere with the Holy Spirit in His work among men in the church or in the world. Corrupt preachers make themselves kings and overshadow everybody. There is no righteousness in them. Everybody has his proper gift in the house of God. Why are you blocking people because of envy?

How can you achieve spiritual fullness, and how can the Holy Spirit have His way? You stand by the door and do not allow people to enter in. That is why you must be sanctified; free from strife, envy, anger, malice and pride. The love of God should make you humble, but Adamic nature in you does not allow this. The solution is sanctification.

Thought for the day. Maintain holiness and righteousness in the church.

TOPIC: MEANING OF RESTITUTION

TEXT: LUKE 19: 8 -10
8. And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

KEY VERSE: ECCLESIASTES 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

Restitution is the scriptural practice of correcting one's past wrong doing against God and man to free the believer from the accusation of men and of personal conscience to serve God in peace and confidence.

Restitution involves confessing hidden crime, lies and treachery practiced against others and rendering apology. The believer is to forgive others and seek forgiveness from those he has offended.

Moreover, it involves restoring stolen or fraudulent money, certificates, documents or property, making confession to appropriate persons and apologizing for wrong acts with willingness to bear the cost or penalty for such crime. Husbands and wives need to make confession of marital unfaithfulness and sin committed against each other.

Restitution is required in wrong marriage. Scripturally wrong marriage must be dissolved; such as second or third marriage, marriage to anyone other than your first lawful partner.

Marriage without parental consent and release of their daughter to her husband must be dissolved or the couple must do all that is required for the marriage to be acceptable before God by settling with the parents of the woman.

Restitution is making the wrong you have done and is a commandment of the Lord to be obeyed. Not to do it is a sin and no sinner shall inherit eternal life. We understand in Scripture that parental consent is required for the woman to leave for marriage. The Scripture does not specify that the consent of the man's parent is required to make his marriage to his wife authentic.

Hence, no man should separate his scripturally binding wife because of the attitude of his parent. However, his parents may advise him on his marital affairs which he may accept or reject. Indeed, it is a great doctrine because it beautifies human relationships; it heals people and restores broken relationships. It gives joy and assurance to those that practice it.

TOPIC: DON'T MAKE VOWS IF YOU CAN'T PAY; BE SERIOUS WITH GOD.

TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 5:4-7
4. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
6. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
7. For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

KEY VERSE: ECCLESIASTES 5:5 “Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay“.

Do not say, it is a mistake. If you are not clear, hold your tongue, because God gets angry at people who vow and never pay. He judges them, so maybe God’s judgment upon you has affected your finances and other areas because you made some vows and did not redeem them yet you keep saying, “God bless me.”

Go and pay what you vowed. Plead with God for mercy, then go and redeem your vow. Maybe you vowed in your former church. Give it where you worship now, except otherwise. If you made a promise that when God gives you a husband, you will do something for him. Maybe you said this with a particular man in mind would but eventually God brought another man to marry you.

Will you not do what you promised God for him? Similarly, if you made a promise to God in a church, if God removes you from there to a place where you see God’s presence, will you not do that which you promised? Will not God be glorified if you do it to the present church where He brought you?

Actually, many churches are not in the perfect way of God, and God brought you to a church where He is, so that your services can be rewarded. When you make vows and do not redeem them, it brings judgment. How many vows have you made and have not redeemed, as at now?

Now, you are passing through judgment unawares all because of money. Come, why did you make those vows? Did money deceive you that it was coming? after you made the vows, then money stopped coming? Just to bring you a curse, just to impoverish you, and abuse you before your God?

Can you please God with vain words? He that reads into your heart knows that you do not have. Why are you making promises over what you do not have? Can you deceive God? God knows you; your yesterday, your today, your bank account, your connection, your family and your friends. God knows all.

Thought for the day: The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

TOPIC: SOME BELIEVERS HAVE ERRED FROM THE FAITH BECAUSE OF THE LOVE OF MONEY

TEXT: I TIMOTHY 6:8-10
8. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

KEY VERSE: MATTHEW 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Those who abandon God for money do so because they are not committed to God or got gradually backslidden. They abandoned their daily devotional life, in study of the word, and in prayer. They stopped attending the fellowship of the believers and other essential Christian meetings and conferences, where their spiritual life could have been renewed. They stopped looking to Jesus daily. They converted all days and all time to money. They left Jesus to serve mammon, the god of money.

How many jobs do you do? Three? As there is morning, afternoon and evening, so there are jobs you do for these periods. Which time is for God now? You came back exhausted and remember that there is God. You say let me try and see how He is doing over there in heaven but before you lift up your eyes, you have fallen back to the bed snoring; and you do this every day. Love of money! You are gone!!

Delilah oppressed Samson in their immoral relationship, to the point that the Holy Spirit left him. She said, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you.” Samson boasted, “I will rise as at other times.” But the Holy Spirit had left him. How many of you are empty now, because the Holy Spirit has left you?. You no longer have time for God.

You have another god now; mammon and the Lord is a jealous God. “How do I give birth to a child and the child has left me for another mother?” This is the complaint of a mother. How can God create you for Himself and you have left Him, and are running after money? He is jealous. You are not balanced.

Your ways are unequal. There is no equality between God and other things. Other things are more important to you now than God. Should not God be more to you than money? Money will take care of you on earth, who takes care of you after death? Does money really take care of you or the mercy of God that remains over you? Please, come back to God.

TOPIC: HOLINESS OF LIFE AND WISDOM ATTRACTS BLESSINGS FROM GOD

TEXT: GENESIS 22:15-18
15. And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16. And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
17. That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18. And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed My voice.

KEY VERSE: PROVERBS 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”

The Lord told Solomon that because he asked for wisdom to rule God’s people to bring glory to God. riches, and honor, and glory and all, I have added to you. We have challenged God with holiness; surely, He will challenge us with His blessing. Can anybody tell God to stop it? He is doing it for Himself and for His glory.

I am preparing you because, who knows, tomorrow you may become a great political leader in the nation. It should not surprise you because God wants to disprove sinners who have relegated His name to the background and attached wretchedness to His children. He is saying, “No, I am the Owner of the world and creator of all things”.

He is saying, “Riches and honor are with Me. By Me kings' rule and princes decree justice.” Just worship God. He has promised to make your paths straight, to level your hill, and to prepare a highway for His children to walk upon. His children are going to pass through that highway. He says, “I am preparing a highway of righteousness; a highway of riches; a highway of wealth and a highway of honor. You will walk on it.” Halleluiah, amen.

Cry for wisdom. Pray for it. Just an idea that will drop into your heart shall make a difference. The Lord is the owner of creative ideas. He says, “I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.” I wisdom dwell with intelligence and bring about discovery.

The Lord will give you ideas and you are going to make progress. People will come and stand before you. People will come to consult you by reason of the discoveries and inventions you will make. His name shall be promoted in your life. Halleluiah.

Now is your time to receive divine wisdom. God will give you wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing. Wisdom is the most important thing. As far as this life is concerned, the two highways are holiness and wisdom. Holiness is God and wisdom is God. It is your time to receive wisdom.
