TOPIC: TAKE THE EVIL MAN OUT OF THE PULPIT

TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 4:14-15
14. Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:.
15. Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

KEY VERSE: EXODUS 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

The scripture reveals that there are categories of sinners whose mouths must be stopped. This refers to evil speakers; people who do not have the truth but are always contrary. If you give them a message to preach, they will preach their errors. Do not give such people message again. Their mouths must be stopped. Do not appoint them as leaders.

Do not appoint a leader because of his dignity. His educational attainment or his charitable life. No, do not do that. Appoint leaders who have the truth with them. You might have even seen that a person has no truth and is not also willing to learn, do not give him the pulpit, but remove it from him.

Many years ago in Deeper Life Bible Church, somebody was given a message to preach in a conference. As he was talking, they noticed that the man had gone off from scriptural truth before the great congregation. What would they do? They had to go to the brother in charge of the generator to put off the light.

As the man continued speaking, he realized that the microphone was not responding again. Then he was told to excuse himself from the pulpit. This was to protect the church. To protect the truth. Take the evil man out of the pulpit.

Take the erroneous man out of the pulpit. Take the contrary man out of the pulpit to preserve the flock of God. Apostle Paul announced the names of apostate ministers to members to beware of them. When the Lord told HOREMOW to call out the names of backslidden ministers, people began to say, “Why do you judge them?” God said, “Call their names that others should beware of them”. Some will say, “Do not judge.”

The Bible says that as a Christian, I should judge those who claim to be Christians. The Lord said the church of Ephesus had done well because they proved those who said they were apostles but were not? They judged them and found them liars. People who do not know scriptures say that we should not call their names. Do I not judge them who say they are Christians to know whether they are really Christians or not?

Thought for the day: God has given us the right to judge righteously.

TOPIC: REMEMBER JESUS IN HIS CRUCIFIXION

TEXT: PSALM 77:1-13
1. I cried unto God with my voice, Even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me.
2. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My sore ran in the night, and ceased not: My soul refused to be comforted.
3. I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
4. Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5. I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times.
6. I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: And my spirit made diligent search.
7. Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will He be favourable no more?.
8. Is His mercy clean gone for ever? Doth His promise fail for evermore?.
9. Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.
10. And I said, This is my infirmity: But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.
11. I will remember the works of the LORD: Surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
12. I will meditate also of all Thy work, And talk of Thy doings.
13. Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: Who is so great a God as our God?.

KEY VERSE: LUKE 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

Jesus was crucified on the cross. Remember His painful cries because of great weights of human sin and wickedness. Jesus, who was God in the flesh cried because of pain. Not because of any weapon or energy of men because of the load of human sin. He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Sorrows and pain in His life because of the sins of men.

Would you think to add one more sorrow to Him by immorality? Would you want to add more to that sorrowful Savior; add more strokes and say it is not enough for Him by going into witchcraft, idolatry and pleasures of flesh? Do you want to smite Jesus again? Do you not pity Jesus? Do you want Him to cry? You say His cry is not enough.

Do you want to despise His cries and pains?. Have you seen where a sick man is crying and saying, “Doctor, I am dying” and the doctor was laughing? A man is gasping with life, crying and you are laughing? Jesus hanged on the tree because you sinned yet you want to backslide again.

Remember Jesus! It will keep you ‘from sinning. You wouldn’t add one sorrow to Him. Pity Him. Remember Him. Please don’t do it for Jesus’ sake. Jesus Himself hanged on the cross for a genuine purpose; the salvation of mankind. That was why He suffered the pain and agony. The Son of God was hanged for genuine salvation of mankind.

Can you remember Jesus? If you remember Jesus, will you play hypocrisy in the church of Christ? Do you play hypocrisy in the service of Jesus? Do you remember Him? Consider that it was God Himself that was crucified on the cross.

The thief on the cross asked the other one that wanted to give extra blow to Jesus, “Dost thou not fear God?” Sinner man, do you not fear God? That God was on the tree, in pain because of sin. You come to play hypocrisy in His church. Pretense! You are not genuine, even in His service, it’s a lie. Don’t you fear God? Remember Jesus!.

Thought for the day: If you remember Jesus, will you play hypocrisy in His church?
