Manal Rostom has made history after becoming the first Egyptian woman to climb Mount Vinson, the highest mountain in Antarctica at 4,892 meters.

She reached the peak on January 6, 2026, after facing extreme weather conditions with temperatures between minus 20 and minus 30 degrees Celsius and hours of intense physical effort.

The summit day alone took around 15 hours of continuous climbing in some of the harshest conditions on the planet.

With this achievement, Manal completes her sixth mountain in the Seven Summits challenge, continuing her journey of representing Egypt on the world’s highest peaks.
