Tomorrow is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and we wanted to say a few words.
There is a lot happening in the world right now. More than ever, it is time to stand together against hate and division, spread love and hope. Because Hope can move mountains.
Going back only a few decades, LGBTQ+ people lived in a world that didn't want them to exist. Still today, there are countries where being yourself can mean death. But in some others... people don't need to hide anymore. They can walk around holding hands, kiss, be intimate and free to be themselves.
This wasn't possible not so long ago, and it didn't happen on its own. It is all thanks to the everyday person, doing little things, that slowly moved mountains.
It is one comment on social networks that brought facts over fiction.
It is one voice in a vote that brought laws of tolerance and empowerment.
It is one signature on a petition that brought visibility to a deep societal topic.
We should not take Fundamental rights for granted. Discrimination still exists. But there's hope it can disappear, and anyone can do something about it.
If you are in the EU, you can participate in this citizen initiative against discrimination, which ends tomorrow: https://eci.ec.europa.eu/043/public/ #/screen/home
Our whole team stands with all the people who were or are impacted by these hateful behaviors. Some of us were victims, and we've known hardships. But we're here to say that we have hope for a better future, and we will always strive to build a world that's safe and welcoming.
One social post, one game, one community at a time.☀
